It has been five years that I stopped smoking, and decided to work on my excess weight.

I have been very successful with the no smoking part, but not so much with the losing weight... I keep losing, then gaining back. And the cycle starts again.

It is time now to re-evaluate what I am doing wrong. I think I stay on a diet that is too restrictive, and when I allow myself a little "break", this turns into several months of over eating.

Raising a handicapped son all by my myself is stressful, but I tend to use this as an excuse to over eat.

So, let's pick up the momentum and see what we can do to get back on track, shall we?

My Goals:
Lose weight s-l-o-w-l-y while continuing to stay smoke-free (N.O.P.E = Not One Puff Ever).

Rewarding myself:
-10 pounds: new workout shoes and socks on 5/16/15
-20 pounds: new book (an essay in French) on 7/25/15
-30 pounds: Christmas music CD on 12/5/15
-40 pounds:
-50 pounds:

My Program:
- Eat balanced meals, not too restrictive calorie-wise.
- Increase my vegetable and fruit consumption.
- Exercise every day, even if this is only 10 minutes a day. I need to keep moving because of arthritis that is getting worse when I am inactive.

Personal Information:
I am originally from France, but now live in Virginia. We go every year on vacation on Lake Superior (in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan) and we love it there!

Other Information:
I recently joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it has brought wonderful changes in my life.
I love to read (theology and history books) and I listen to classical music (J.S. Bach is my favorite composer).

Ahhhh, He's got a thing for legos! It is a real popular deal these legos are. How wonderful for eye and hand coordination. A real plus!

For some weird reason, I had a brief lapse of senior brain cells working and I had a thought it was your husband that was having some difficulties but then realized you are the wrong person I meant to ask...I am so sorry I was confused...But how is your son doing though. Does he enjoy the holidays Veronique???????

Happy Birthday TEDDY! Lucy Lou will be turning 4 December 13th! Wondering if I should bake a cake for her...But she probably won't eat it. Food is just not a real interest to her, so different that it was for SUNDAE. He was impossible when food was around, he would literally jump off a bridge if he knew there was food below. He was pretty awful when he would grab a sandwich from a child's hand if it was accessible so I had to keep him on a tight lead if there was any type of food around. Sometimes I would miss it and he made some people awfully pissed off when he tried to get the food away from them...That is something that I just had to be extremely vigilant about.
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. How is hubby doing????

I got Bone Broth Protein from Dr. Axe's website. You can watch for it to go on sale as I feel it is darn pricey! I was lucky to get it on a Black Friday sale with free shipping. and I still thought it was pricey! I haven't used it yet as my friend Linda made up some Turkey Broth from her organic Thanksgiving turkey and it is SO good!!

I haven't tried it yet because of course I'm going for the fresh stuff first. I'll take this when we go to N.C. for Christmas so I can still tap into the goodness.

I'll let you know how I think it stacks up to the fresh stuff. I'm sure it is great for those that don't have the time or the gumption to do the fresh broth. I'm not looking forward to the chicken feet part for sure...for SURE! emoticon
