February 2011 - Now I can't believe it has been nearly 4 years. I'm not on all that often, but still check back in regularly to count calories when I know it is starting to get away from me. Our family has made so many health changes, we really eat pretty well most of the time. I really don't need to count every calorie all of the time - I pretty much know what I can and can't have. I guess that was really the goal all along, so I would consider the past four years pretty successful. I would still look better 10 lbs lighter, but hopefully that will come in time. I am going to try to challenge myself to count all of my calories (and stay within range) until summer vacation this year. Maybe that will take those stubborn 10 pounds off!

January 2010 - wow - I can't believe it has been nearly 3 years! A lot has happened in 3 years. Of course now I am 44, but the biggest news is that we adopted a nine year old from the foster care system. While this has been one of the most rewarding things we have ever done, it has also been one of the most difficult.

Our new daughter has been through a lot in her young life, so we have spent the past year doing "therapeutic parenting." She has caused me to find a new level of patience that I did not know I was capable of enjoying. So during the past year, the focus has mainly been on her. Now I am ready to reclaim my life. I wouldn't say I let myself go during the past year (I actually participated in a sprint triathlon during that time!), but I have gained about 5 pounds. I'm ready to take that off, lose the other ten that I never lost before and reclaim a healthier lifestyle.

Hubby is still the greatest in the world. My oldest son is now 19 and in college and my older daughter is 17. The youngest is now 10. The past couple of years have been good to our family. Now I'm ready to take it to a new level.

Original entry back in May of 2007: I am 41 years old, married with 2 teenagers. Last year after a Spring Break trip I hit my breaking point and decided it was time to lose some weight. I lost 15 pounds, but then started weight training and have gained a few pounds in muscle. However, my inches have still gone down. I just stumbled onto SP one day while looking online for a calorie counter and thought I would see if I could finish out my weight loss goals here. What a great site! Thanks SP.

    Wow! and again I say, Wow!!! You are my hero! I came on your page to welcome you to the Couch to 5k team, then I saw what you have accomplished and I am blown away!!!! You are living my dream! I am currently training for a mini-marathon in May, a duathlon in October and a Sprint Tri for the spring of 2011. I am not naturally an athlete so this is like training a cat to bark. LOL!
