Sweaty is the new sexy!

I was in a couple of car accidents (ala person v. car) when I was young, and subsequently have a spinal condition. Since then I have felt very limited in what physical activities I am capable of or allowed to do. The fear of vertebral progression has hovered over me.

It has now been a full ten years since my diagnosis and my condition has remained stable. I feel empowered to explore ways of being active and fully believe that becoming more fit will only benefit my life in many ...

My goal is to eat better, be more active, stronger, and lower my body fat percentage. Weight loss would be a delightful bonus but not my main goal.


Current Status:
THELILEA I had a burger and fries at lunch (co-workers birthday lunch) and I felt sick afterwards. I feel bad about spending the calories and money one something I didn't even want. Experience noted!

My Goals:
Summer 2011:
I feel like I'm doing it on my own for the first time, now that my 2 day a week class has ended. The test is on to see if I can maintain my momentum for myself. I am very close to my goal weight, what's left is basically vanity pounds. I do however have some room to improve on my inches, so I want to keep at it to lower my body fat percentage to the "fitness" level.

Objective goals:
-Be able to run the 4 miles without having to stop
-Get in good swim work outs regularly
-Do more effective ST sessions more regularly
-Swim 650 meters in 12 minutes ( I can do 550 now)
-Waste less calories on alcohol

- Wear a bikini for the first time (hey, I can dream, right? :P )


My Program:
Diet:
-Get back into making big, healthy meals at home for left overs. Getting home late after working out has left me with less chances that I eat well these days...
-BRING FOOD TO WORK
-drink less booze! Those calories are fun but this plateau between me and abs is killin' me

Fitness:
-Monday 3 or 4 miles community jog downtown
-Tues and Thurdsay do legit GYM workout with Strength training the main focus!
Wednesday-awesome swimming
There! That's four! Get in at least one on the weekend and we're GOLDEN

OVERALL: Try to get at least 30 minutes of movement in 6 days a week.

From sunny Tucson, Arizona!! AWESOME place to be outdoor all those NON-summer months. I LOVE summers here, though! Bring it on! :D

Other Information:
I love
-nerdy sci fi shows (seriously, everything with Star in the title: Star Trek, Stargate SG 1, Battlestar Gallactica...) Buffy, Firefly, Big Bang Theory, oh god too many to admit...
-50's pin up beauty that I'm not girly enough to really do
-Good beer
-Looking at my fledgling muscles as I walk
- Surprising myself
- The feeling I have on the walk home after a kick ass swim
- Being silly with my friends
- Telling the WHOLE STORY (otherwise, what's the point?)
-Getting that bonus spin on the SP wheel, haha

emoticon for the blog comment and the add! It's so tough to kick the bad habits... and there always seems to be some excuse to celebrate which always seems to translates to drinking and eating more than I should... But all I can do is try. Hope you're having a good weekend!

My calories eaten seem to be all over the place depending on the day, but for the last 7 days the average is 1590.
My calories burned have averaged 360 per day.

Eating 1600 is probably a good average for me to strive for. I think it's right around what Spark tells me to eat.

Thank you. Its just crazy the work stuff I had to deal with. Im relieved now Im not going in. No more of my bosses attitude- just was crazy.

I did have a great weekend!!! I completed my ZumbaŽ Step training on Sunday! I have never taught Step before... I've never liked Step as a participant, so not sure what posessed me to teach it! LOL
The course was intense and I think I left with more questions then answers :( Home study for me! (Like I have time for this!?!)

I am glad I took it, but I don't think it will become my new specialty! emoticon
