Living Less Large

We all know what to do, but life gets in the way - not having enough time, physical limitations, special occasions, etc. These things will NEVER go away; success in anything we do depends on how we handle it. It's coming at us, whether we like it or not - we must adapt. Concentrate on the positive, even if it's foreign at first.

GIVE IT SIX WEEKS.
Make a two-month calendar and tape it prominently. Vow to exercise (your choice as long as it gets your heart pumping) at least 30 minutes per day, six days per week, for six weeks. Put a big red X through each day that you exercise. Just like SparkPoints, it's motivating to see the big red Xs stack up. By the time you keep this up for just six weeks, you will have formed a habit. By then, it will be as natural as brushing your teeth. You won't feel right if you don't do it. I'm not saying it won't be a chore sometimes, just like doing laundry, but you'll do it. Break the 30 minutes up if you have to. I've heard the best cardio is achieved when your heart rate is increased for at least 20-minute , but if you have to break it up, it's better than not doing it at all.

YOUR OWN CHEERING SECTION
My favorite part of SparkPeople is checking on and replying to my SparkFriends' status updates. It's like Facebook for Fitness! I also really enjoy the message boards (under COMMUNITY). People are so friendly and encouraging - you'll find that you're not in this alone. If you're down, your SparkFriends will pick you up and they'll applaud your successes. It's addicting, but there are far worse things to be addicted to!

Leslie Sanson is a great starting place. But also, Don't let the creepy guy win. Are you sure he's still around? Maybe he's gone. He might be. We will get back to our fighting weight. We know we can do it. I need to get back in the habit of tracking my food. That is where I'm currently failing.

Way to go on your food tracking...

I was so discouraged today even though I am eating right. It has only been a week and I have had results but not much. I made myself do the elliptical this evening despite feeling like "it doesn't seem to make a difference".

I feel so proud of myself that I was able to complete 30 min and not snack on bad foods. If I can do it, so can you... Hang in their friend. A few days down....your life to go! Supporting you for afar.
