Hi! I'm Theresa and I've been fat since I was 5 years old. As a teenager and well into my twenties I was bulimic. I finally stopped the purging, but I continued to binge eat for years and years. I am also insulin resistent PCOS. More than two years ago I had an epiphany and knew it was time to shed this weight I had carried all my life. Whatever it took - I was ready. My doctor told me that I would need to start taking cholesterol meds and my blood pressure & sugar levels were also high. I thought to myself - this weight has robbed so much from my life - now, in a very real sense, it is robbing me of my very life. It's now or it's never. Something shifted in my mind that day and I've never looked back. I began my journey to a truly healthy lifestyle.

I changed my mindset from quick to permanent weight loss with improved health as my goal. The learning curve is very steep when the goal is nothing short of a complete lifestyle overhaul. I became my own personal chef (learning to cook in the process), did much mental work (and shed many tears), and went from sedentary to active. I even hike to the top of mountains now! Of 100 lbs to lose, 84 are gone with 16 to go! There have been plenty of setbacks, tears and frustration, this journey we are on is not an easy one, but conquering the food addiction that gripped my life for 40 years is powerful. I feel I have finally been set free. I now wear skinny jeans and have gotten more looks and whistles (at the ripe old age of 46 :) than in my entire life. My self-esteem and confidence have soared. Instead of dragging myself out of bed and napping mid-day I now face the world with boundless energy. In fact, by far I am in the best shape of my entire life and life is very, very good!!!

I track all my food, walk 12,000 steps per day and walk the mountain trail near my home as often as possible.
