Hi, my name is Lee and I am just trying to get started here. So far I have been really inspired by all that I have read. I had hip replacement surgery a year ago so decided to quit smoking before the big day. After 46 years of smoking I am proud to say that , so far I have done it.. I traded cigarettes for food and a unhealthy life style, gaining lots of pounds in no time. I woke up one morning thinking how much I hate being so heavy and that I have to do something about it so I got on ...
I woke up one morning thinking how much I hate being so heavy and that I have to do something about it so I got on the computer and found Spark People. There is such a wealth of information and help and I keep finding new things. I retired last December so have a lot of time to read up on things. Our 8 children are all grown, we have 21 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren. I love my dogs, a Boxer, Boston Terrier and a German Shepard, they keep my life interesting. I have never posted on a message board or a page before so here goes another new thing for me

You're a kinder person than I am. If I'd gained 20 pounds after the surgery I would have accused my surgeon of leaving some things behind that shouldn't have been! (Besides, it seems like the LEAST they could do is remove some of that "extra" we don't need as long as they're in there....)

Wearing my pajama top at work did make me ready for sleep at any time. I really hate uncomfortable clothes and refuse to wear heels any more. I like the dogs in your photo.

I LOVE pedicures too, only I'm spoiled because I have children who are willing to rub and lotion my feet for free. I also do this for my dad, and work on his toenails when I'm in town with him. When my grandmother was alive, I gave her pedicures. It's odd. . . I love them so much, but this was my first professional one. My family is a very "touchy-feely" family, and so it's been nice to enjoy this with them. I'm glad you enjoy pedicures, too. I think they're good for the health!

So happy you finally got what you wanted! It's a shame the doctors don't listen to us sometimes. We DO know what we want! I remember making a point of it several times after losing a young SIL to breast cancer just a few years after having breast implants. Cancer tumor formed under the implant which the doctor assured her would not happen. No way was I going to go that route!

I am recovering from 2 cataract eye surgeries. Last one just this week. Could not believe how beautiful all the colors are now! Everything was very brown and gray before. God has made a very beautiful world! I am so grateful to the good doctors I have been blessed to have.

Have a wonderful week! emoticon
