Hi, my name is Lee and I am just trying to get started here. So far I have been really inspired by all that I have read. I had hip replacement surgery a year ago so decided to quit smoking before the big day. After 46 years of smoking I am proud to say that , so far I have done it.. I traded cigarettes for food and a unhealthy life style, gaining lots of pounds in no time. I had hip replacement surgery a year ago so decided to quit smoking before the big day. After 46 years of smoking I am proud to say that , so far I have done it.. I traded cigarettes for food and a unhealthy life style, gaining lots of pounds in no time. I woke up one morning thinking how much I hate being so heavy and that I have to do something about it so I got on the computer and found Spark People. There is such a wealth of information and help and I keep finding new things. I retired last December so have a lot of time to read up on things. Our 8 children are all grown, we have 21 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren. I love my dogs, a Boxer, Boston Terrier and a German Shepard, they keep my life interesting. I have never posted on a message board or a page before so here goes another new thing for me

Hi, Yes, we're all safe and doing well, thank you.

My dau HITCH-HIKED up from York when she locked herself out of her house. Her DH was at work in So. York County, and couldn't help; and we couldn't even get out of our driveway at that point. I gave her a 'sandwich' - I told her I was glad she was safe and sound, fussed at her for hitch-hiking, then told her I was glad she was safe and sound.

HJ spent the night w/us and we were able to take her home this morning. We do have a key to her house, so she was able to get back in. She was going to have one royal mess to clean up - her small dog is kept in the kitchen, and was alone for 24 hrs. He had water, of course, and wouldn't starve to death in one day, but I did feel a little bad for him. We had responsibilities at church this morning and couldn't help dig out her car or help clean up the mess, I'm sorry to say. But at least she was safe.

My youngest grandson (3 yr) has flu, bless them all, because he couldn't get a flu shot. His pediatrician was out of vacine when they took him and the state health dept WOULDN'T give him a shot because they have insurance. What a sad state of affairs. E lives with asthma, so this is a bad thing for him.

Hope Alex is doing well. How has he adjusted to being home again?
Nancy

G'Morning, Lee,

I'm glad you had an enjoyable time listening to the AF concert. I'm sure it was great. Several years ago, I visited my Mom in CO Springs (home of the AF academy) and we had the opportunity to go to a local park and listen to an AF band - I forget which one. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Hope you're keeping warm and safe today.
Nancy

It seams that I am reminding a lot of people about shredding or sorting. I hope you get yours done. I keep working on this stuff as I can and I pray that soon I will be through the initial stuff and then will have to go through all the stuff I have kept and get it all organized. I may be at this for years LOL. Anyway, yes there is always so much to do and it seems there isn't enough time so all we can do is what we can do.

Take care.
Thiry
