A lot of the most popular diet authors are cardiologists and they don't make you give up healthy fats because you have heart problems.

I don't think you have to dress frumpy but once you have kids and a husband your table dancing days should be behind you. LOL. I don't mean you, of course. I don't think you could ever be frumpy or would dress trashy either. But I see way too many older women trying to hang on to their youth. I'm not a prude but if you show too much skin it's like you are still marketing the goods, like my hubby says. Old skin just doesn't look like young skin. Like you said, classier looks better. Do people still wear short skirts now? I haven't seen any here for a while but then I don't even know any young people any more. Everyone I know is old and they wear jeans. My first husband and my hubby now don't even like red nail polish. Hate fake fingernails. Fake boobs. Dyed hair. So I'm kind of stuck being natural even if I eventually end up frumpy.

Low carb will always be hard because everyone loves their carbs. Most people try low fat first and end up trying low carb because the low fat didn't work for them or because their doctor changed their diet like mine did. I would have have never done low carb if it weren't for that. It's a nightmare at first and I never had to do the really hard stuff, like Atkins. South Beach phase one was hard enough for me and I hope to never have to do it again. That is why I never let myself get too crazy. I don't want my fruit taken away from me for even 2 weeks.

I have some favorite clothing items too I wish I could get back into.

I hate wearing dresses. Thank God, people don't wear them much in my area any more. We have few social situations that require them. Very few formal weddings now. I'm not sure why. They have cute theme weddings here now like western themes. Everyone wearing boots and jeans. The pictures in the paper are so cute. I wonder if you save a lot of money with those kinds of weddings.

I never had much of a butt so I wore smaller jeans. Not so with tops.

I don't blame you. You have to wear what you feel comfortable in.

I'm not ashamed of my body at all but I just prefer to dress a certain way - sporty casual. it's what both of my husbands like. Modest, no cleavage, no butt cracks, no belly buttons. I am 63, you know. LOL. I don't think most people want their grandmas dressed like Miley Cyrus. There is nothing worse than a geezer running around trying to look like a 16 year old. It never works. I wanted to buy a purse once and my son told me it was too hookerish. LOL.

I don't think the nurse meant anything by what she said but it was still embarrassing. I never would have said anything like that.

I don't take measurements. I know a lot of people do.
