Looking Forward

What adventure lies ahead!

"What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve."

In the long run you hit only what you aim at. Therefore, though you should fail immediately, you had better aim at something high. - Henry David Thoreau

"Whether you prevail or fail depends more on what you do to yourself than on what the world does to you" - Jim Collins

Never, never give up.

No more power outages, third day of relentless wind. I'm tired of it! And as chilly as the gusts might be, it's still nothing like Oregon with the wind whipping down out of Canada and frost on the ground, or dangerous-to-go-outside as it was when I was in Kansas in February. 60F! And I'm whining that I'm freezing! I've gone all soft here.

A move to a new part of Norway? Stressful I'm sure but also chalk full of opportunity as well as challenge. I've missed you too! I was thrilled to see your recipes online where you linked from your blog. I think you deserve the very best so it's awesome to see good things happening for you. I've always adored your attitude and sense of celebration.

My BF challenged me to run a half marathon with him when I said I could not imagine doing a half marathon. I accepted and we're signed up for a race put on by a local cartoonist we both enjoy, who is incidentally a long distance runner (http://www.beattheblerch.com). So that's on the docket for September and I think I better start training soon!

I quit my office job and moved in with my grandfather as a full-time caregiver just over a week ago. I've been divorced now for about 18 months, and after some romantic learning experiences, I'm very much in love with a wonderful guy and we plan to share our lives, including raising a family after I finish grad school. What else? Oh, I'm set to finally start my own Girl Scout USA troop next fall and even have a neighbor girl that wants to join already! In the meantime I'm cleaning out the house, taking care of my grandpa, and preparing to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) General Test so I can apply to teaching programs this winter. I've never been so happy.

I was also pretty surprised to note I'd put on two pant sizes while I wasn't paying attention! So I'm back on here :) How have you been?!

What a sweetheart you are! My life has changed drastically in the last year and things are finally evening out and looking bright again :) I am Sparking again now with a deadline motivator to run my first half-marathon in Seattle this September. I can't wait to share your blog with my grandfather! He's going to love it as much as I do!

Hi, Ronna ! The new link worked. The does look like a fun race. Although, like I said, mud yes, water no. I hate running with wet feet.

Hope Liam is feeling better after his giant leap for mankind. ;)
