"In the Alphabet, 'O' stands for Opportunity; it is absent in yesterday but available in today and tomorrow so don't think about yesterday!" Author Unknown "Running is a mental sport...and we're all insane!" Back of a tshirt at a 10K. I have never been the skinny girl, but I was the athletic girl. I loved sports and played softball, basketball, volleyball, rode my bike everywhere, and would work out just because I loved it. I was about 125 in high school. Then college happened. I did gain some weight in college but then I found a workout partner and we started going to the gym regularly. That on top of working full time as a chef in a restaurant and going to school full time (walking to all of my classes even though I lived slightly off campus) kept me in ok shape during college and kept my weight about 140. Then came the big move to Maine. I began a relationship with a guy from high school and moved to Maine to be with him. I gained 25 more pounds and weighed 165. After a hard breakup I moved to Orlando in January 2008 and began a bootcamp which I did for about 8 months and got down to 155 pounds and then hit a plateau and couldn't afford to keep paying for it. I have never 'really' paid attention to the foods I ate, even during bootcamp, sure I would have a lean cuisine and salad at lunch but at dinner I allowed myself whatever I wanted because "I worked out that morning". While I did lose weight in bootcamp with this attitude, I hit a plateau and didn't lose as much weight as I would have liked. During the 2008 holidays I gained back all of my weight and then some and weighed 175. Now it's a new year and I have the motivation and determination to find the athlete in me once again. I miss playing volleyball and being the active and strong person I once was. Day 1 - January 6th, 2009.
