In 2009 I lost 50 pounds...and found 40 of them. I came back in January 2014 with a goal. Exercise 10 mins a day. I started with that and slowly incorporated hiking. I love hiking and have had the opportunity to explore many places around the world but there was one hike that I had never done and along with my husband we set our goal to do the Grouse Grind, lovingly referred to as "Natures Stair Master", this summer. On August 16, 2014 I reach a 70 pound weight loss and finished the Grind with my amazing husband by my side.

My next goal. Run a Spartan Race. In September 2015 I finished my first Spartan, 7.5K up the side of a ski hill with 20 obstacles. I can't wait to do another one! Lately I've taken up rock climbing. I love what losing weight has brought to my life, I can't imagine ever wanting to give this up.

My new goal is to run a marathon on The Great Wall of China in 2018. I've mapped out races over the next 2 years to help me train including trail runs and increasing my distances each year. Each time I run I know that I'm pushing myself closer to my goals and love that I'm treating my body with respect....most of the time.

My Goals:
To listen to my body and feed it the foods it needs. Unless my body tells me it needs a triple scoop hot fudge sundae. Then we negotiate.



My Program:
Meal planning.

Focus on cooking with fresh herbs from the garden and veggies from the farmers markets. No more pre-packaged quick meals.

Adding exercise and being accountable for the good and the bad.

What started with a commitment to 10 mins a day of exercise has lead to 5K races, a Spartan race and now rock climbing. I never made any huge changes, but keep evolving. I'm excited to see where I go next!

    Ha, well I'm glad my run could motivate you! I was going to go to a class at the gym, but a conference call got in the way. It probably worked out for the best since I really needed to run. But I have a list of classes I want to try. I hope your weather cooperates! 50's here tomorrow! Woo hoo!
