Running Girl is the name given to me by my friend, Lori (ANEWLORI), when I first started building up my mileage.
It's just stuck, and I love it! Thanks, hun!


I know this is a long journey, but it's one I'm so excited to be on.
I am a proud wife of an Active Duty Coast Guard Warrant Officer, homeschooling mother of 2 (ages 10 and 8), and avid runner.
I've struggled with weight my entire life. After I had my kids, I struggled with PPD for awhile, got inactive, and gained more than 100lbs (though most was put on during my first pregnancy).
And while I still have a lot left to go, I know I'll reach my goal.

My main focus is on losing the weight and getting to a better place physically.

Essentially, I'm doing this for myself and my family. I was tired of feeling run-down all the time, tired of seeing an overweight reflection in the mirror, tired of my clothes not fitting how I want them to. I want to be around for my kids and be active with them. And I want to set a good example for both of them.
But, I'm also doing this to prove to those nay-sayers along the way that I am an actual human-being with actual feelings. Just b/c I'm overweight doesn't make me any less of a person. In fact, the journey to lose the weight has made me who I am, and I absolutely love that person.

My Goals:
Lose 10% of my body weight

Finish local 10k in November

Ultimately, to reach a weight that is considered healthy for my height. (which is anything below 160)

My Program:
Following my plan: Exercise at least 30mins a day for 6 days a week. Combination of cardio and strength training.
Concentrate on putting in the good foods vs the bad.
Track, Track, Track.

I absolutely love to run. I love quiet reflection. And I love natural beauty. I believe that life is precious and we should treat it as such...enjoy each moment for what it is. I don't like complications, and really do try to keep things as simple as I can...even though it doesn't always happen that way.
I say how I feel and often put my heart on my sleeve and/or my foot in my mouth. But at least I'm genuine. What you see is indeed what you get.

I love margaritas and getting caught in the rain. :o) (not a big pina colada fan) I'm kinda into yoga. And I have more than half a brain.
