Greetings and Happy New Year!
Hopefully your days are going well! Mine are terrific now that I have Spark in my life, and a good attitude to go with it! Here's my short story:
I lost 30 pounds in the first 6 months of my lifestyle change, back in 2008, and I felt great! Then, I leveled out all through 2009, not really able to focus on my goals.
After that, I started out 2010 in a total fitness slump, gained back some weight, and weighed 244 lbs by May 21st! ...

Greetings and Happy New Year!
Hopefully your days are going well! Mine are terrific now that I have Spark in my life, and a good attitude to go with it! Here's my short story:
I lost 30 pounds in the first 6 months of my lifestyle change, back in 2008, and I felt great! Then, I leveled out all through 2009, not really able to focus on my goals.
After that, I started out 2010 in a total fitness slump, gained back some weight, and weighed 244 lbs by May 21st! Since the end of May2010, I'm seriously on notice and minding my habits..so I'm definitely back on the path of losing! I've lost 36 lbs in the past 7 months! In 2011 my work became stressful, with lots of travel too, and I lost sight of my goals; ending up weighing 238 by years end! YUCK! In 2012 many distractions continued along with the addition of an injury in the family, so I basically stayed flat until a 2 lb gain during the holiday season. Yuck again!
My General Resolution for 2013:
I resolve to lead a more healthy lifestyle than I have in the past years, and will continue on my path to lose weight. Daily walking is on my agenda. The addition of weight training is included from now on too. I'll also continue to help my Spark Team through motivation and other support. KEEP UP THE SPARK! You deserve to be healthy!

Heya Tony, thanks for the welcome note! Congratulations on the weight loss too! Awesome!

I actually signed up here more than a year ago, but, as sometimes happens, I didn't keep up with the program. Still not too good with the message posting & mail checking or groups part, but I've been good about tracking the food and exercise. One of the things I love on here is the map your route feature in the fitness section. Since we got a dog I've been walking him a lot (except for when that darn freezing white stuff falls from the sky, then we use the treadmill).

Great that you guys are working on your health goals as a family! I think this time I'll be able to maintain the momentum since Steve is "on board" too. He hasn't joined Sparkpeople, but he is making healthier meals and exercising - we're also starting to learn Tai Chi. oh yeah.

Thanks for the offer of help too! Might need to take you up on that sometime though I'm not doing too bad stumbling my way through here.

Good to hear from you too - and next time we see each other we will all be thinner!
