My Story...

My name is Tracy and I have struggled with weight all of my life. My Mom was always on the heavier side, but she wore it very well--you would never be able to tell! The rest of my family was stick thin, so I obviously inherited my Mom's genes when it came to weight.

I have tried many things to lose weight, but I never really knew how to do it. I have tried to just not eat, but then I start to shake and end up eating more than I needed--that didn't work! I have also tried ...

I have also tried pills and drinks and nothing ever happened--go figure!

I gained most of my weight after I had my daughter. I ended up weighing more after I had her than when I was 9 months pregnant. That was depressing. I did lose some weight while I was going through my divorce, but not as much as I needed to.

It wasn't until the summer of 2007 that I started to kick things in gear. My highest weight at that time was 255. I remember thinking to myself that I was closer to 300 than I was to 200--ouch! So, I started to walk--a brisk walk that gave me a sweat. When I felt the urge I started to run. It felt great! The problem was though, where I live there are a lot of hills and it 's right on a highway...not a very good place to run. I like to go into town where we have a lake that is about 3 miles around--perfect for a good walk or run. It took a lot to get there and back though (gas prices these days, I tell you!!) So, for awhile I stopped running/walking altogether and went back to my old ways. While I was doing that, I had lost about 10 pounds--good, at least I was under 250!

That's when I convined my fiance (now husband) to invest in a treadmill--one that I could run on. He was skeptical at first and thought I wasn't going to use it as much as I said I was. I convinced him otherwise and we got it. We had it for about a month and I would go on it every now and again...nothing consistant though.

Then, I found this website! I have never learned so much about wieght loss, fitness, nutrition and health. I had only been a member for about a month and a half, but that is how I felt! I finally learned how I get fat and how I can lose it. At my work I tell people that "knowledge is power" all the time...now I know this is true!

I haven't been true to this website for awhile now, but now I am ready to start again!! The wedding is over (and even with my weight I looked beautiful!), but that doesn't mean I can't still get healthy and be happy!!

My Goals:
It's quite simple--to be happy! If I am happy, everything else will fall into place!

My Program:
I eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. I have found that it really doesn't take much to feel full!
I'm working on a fitness routine...

Personal Information:
I have a wonderful daughter whom I adore! Every time that I say that I am fat, my daughter looks at me and tells me I am not and then gets mad at me. I need to listen to her more often--what a girl!

Other Information:
I love the Wizard of Oz! It is one of my favorite childhood memories with my family. Although no relation to the ruby slippers that Dorothy wore, I do have a thing with red shoes...my mom started it! I even wore red shoes on my wedding day! (My daughter did too!)

Hey Tracy, its has bee a while.I hope you are doing well! I was a bad girl and stopped going to this website, and have gained back everything I lost. I decided that I cant do it alone, and that I was doing so well on here that I needed to get back and start doing better.

Thank you for your thoughts, and for reaing my blogs...I am glad someone does! JK! Food is a battle, and I have thought the exact thing you are talking about as well, that we need food to survive. Its not like quitting smoking or drinking. I have really had to learn portion control. At first it scared me, but I am really starting to feel a difference. I dont have headaches anymore, and I dont feel gross after eating. Isnt it amazing what food can do to you?
I am SOOO ready to get to 160, I havent seen that number since my daughter was born, and that was 5 years ago.
We need to cheer eachother on, thats what keeps us going. I saw this quote on line today-Failure is not falling down, but staying down. So...we just need to keep getting up...
Good luck, and hope to talk to you soon!
