Recovering Fast Food Addict

That's me. I used to eat fast food or some sort of sugary treat at least once every 2 days or so. I gained a pile of weight, and ate myself into Type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol, not to mention hypothyroidism and a few other health issues. My doctor says it's all reversible still, so that's what I intend to do!

My Program:
I'm on a high protein low glycemic diet. No added sugar, low cholesterol, and avoiding foods not recommended for my blood type. Trying to eat organic, non-processed, non-GMO foods as much as possible. Going to the gym 3 x a week, to the infrared sauna 2 x a week, and generally being more active.

My name is Allison, I'm 37 years old, and live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I am a married mother to 4 children, ages 17, 15, 12, and 8, and to 3 furbabies (2 cats and a dog). I work as a Home Care Aid, love sewing, gardening, cooking, cross-stitching, camping, and reading fantasy.

I love your positive attribute for today, cooking! I never even though of that, but have come to realize that I am liking my fresh, home cooked meals better than eating out, or fixed by others. Especially my soups. I love that they are made from fresh, whole foods, reducing meat, and loading with veggies, plus learning to love beans. I have actually come to enjoy cooking, when it's on my terms! :)
