For years I've said "Some day I'd like to be a runner". Well, some day is here. I'm doing the Couch to 5K program and soon I'll be Flying.

WEIGHT (and stuff) TIMELINE:

December 20, 2006 - Joined SparkPeople. Didn't bother coming back until;

August 28, 2009 - A week of epiphanies. An A1c of 7.6%. Frank discussion with Dr. Finally found my backbone buried somewhere under my devil-may-care attitude. Gave both an adjustment, and finally created my profile here on SparkPeople. Started just logging nutrition (not changing how I ate). Guesstimated my weight to be 190 (instead of actually checking).

August 30, 2009 - Got on the Wii Balance board for a round of step aerobics and discovered that I actually weighed 198 lbs. Could have cried.

August 31, 2009 - After discovering (thanks to the awesome Nutrition tracker) that I was eating over two thousand calories a day, I got down to business. This is the day I start eating better, striving for a goal of 1200 - 1500 calories / day.

September 9, 2009 - 192 lbs

September 17, 2009 - 190 lbs (WOOT!!)

September 25, 2009 - 189 lbs (down 9 coffee mugs YEAH!)

October 3, 2009: 188 lbs - I have lost 10 pounds!!!! 5% of my body weight gone!

October 8, 2009: 187 lbs

October 16, 2009: 185 lbs

October 23, 2009: 184 lbs

October 29, 2009: 182 lbs

November 6, 2009: 181 lbs

November 20, 2009: 180 lbs

November 27, 2009: 179 lbs (1 more lb to go to my goal of 10% body weight loss!)

December 4, 2009: I'm a Motivational Member! *Shock* *Awe*
Weight still 179 lbs.

December 12, 2009: 177 lbs!! 21 lbs and 10% body weight loss DONE!

December 19, 2009: 174 lbs

*Plateau, BIG TIME!*

January 16, 2010: 173 lbs - 25 pounds lighter!! WOOHOO!!

My Goals:
Revised Short Term Goal: To lose 10% of my body weight (17.3 lbs) by June 1, 2010.

Short Term Goal: To lose 10% of my body weight (20 lbs) before December 31, 2009.
~ DONE December 12/09!!

To finish the Couch to 5K program and run for 30 minutes straight!

Long Term Goal: Weigh 125 lbs and live a healthy, balanced lifestyle by November 1, 2010.

My ultimate goal is to be able to create my own happiness again.

My Program:
Step 1 is to ease myself into adopting habits of a healthy lifestyle.
Strive for a weight loss goal of 1 - 2 pounds per week.
Most of all, forgiving myself if I screw up...but not excusing myself.

Step 2:
- Maintain a daily caloric intake between 1200 - 1600 calories. Strive for an average of 1400 calories/day.
- Eat less than 250 CHO / day.
- Have my daily fat intake at less than 30% of my daily caloric intake.
- Couch to 5K program. Running/walking three times a week. Start Date October 23, 2009.

Personal Information:
I am 29 years old, 5'2". I have a really small bone structure - I used to shop in the kiddie store. This girl is proud to be Canadian, eh! I live in Alberta, and frequently ask myself why (brrr).

I have a diploma as a Nursing Unit Clerk, used to be a PCA for a special needs child, work in Finance as a Credit/Collections specialist (for the past five years), and I'm going back to school for grooming.

I'm an avid reader who is trying to break the one-a-day habit, a gardener and an aspiring Photographer. I shoot religiously with a Canon XSi and would some day love to take it professional!

Other Information:
I'm often irreverent and thrive on sarcasm. Suzy Sunshine I am not; I'm a realist, not an optimist. I make fun of myself. A Lot. And then I blog about it. Why the hell not?? It's funny.

I have three 'kids'; my dogs Lady, Muggs and Mollie. Lady is a 10 year old Border Collie, Muggs is a Husky x BC and about 7 years old, and Mollie, my 4 year old heart-dog, is a tri-colour working Border Collie. I train as a Stockdog handler with Mollie, who herds sheep. I can tell you that I love animals, but it would be an understatement!

I'm also a member of the CAPPDT and am currently working towards certification as a professional dog trainer.

Hi again! Getting keys to move in huh, sounds like time for lots of support. I have moved lots, (LOTS) and even though it is exciting and new it can still be stressful. Take deep breaths and you can be organized and settled in soon. Good luck. emoticon

i'm gonna have to try and remember this one, I give stress too much of my time and energy! (if only stressing could burn calories, I would be flying!
