"I Can't" means "I haven't learned how yet and I'm not going to try"

My name is Pat and I am retired from a full-time sedentary job (of 30 years).

I have been a fitness enthusiast for many years and have explored (and enjoyed) many different activities, including running, treadmill/elliptical work, weight training, figure skating, sychronized swimming, and some downhill skiing.

I recently rekindled an old love for horseback riding and hope to continue with and improve that.

My Goals:
To maintain current weight and fitness level - actually I hope to improve the latter.

I achieved my previous goal - to have my LBD fit as well February 2011 as it did February 2010. I was determined not to be one of those women who retire and gain 40-50 pounds ... I am not.

New goal: Continue to work toward better fitness level and improve my riding skills.

My Program:
Become a better horseback rider.

4-5 cardio workouts per week

Strength training at least 3 x per week.

Personal Information:
I live in small town Ontario, Canada. I share my home with my husband, a Timneh African grey parrot, one lovebird, and 2 cockatiels.

I have 2 wonderful adult children, one awesome DIL, and one brilliant, gorgeous, funny, charming, grandson. (and yes I'm totally besotted)

Other Information:
I am an avid reader, enjoy taking courses and have recently rekindled 2 old loves - quilting and horseback riding.

I have made many friends on SP and am so very glad I stumbled across the website in March/09.

Hi there Tuffybird,

thank you for commenting on my BLOG tonight. I hope you are feeling better since the accident with the deer and your insurance company has responded to your inquiries.
I know having a rental car must be nice especially a brand new one but always nice to have your own car too.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow and may God Bless you.

Hugs

Thanks Pat for being a friend. This is so hard for all of us but selfishly, in some ways it seems especially hard because we're so helpless, separated by miles and down in the list of persons who can be on the visitor list...the internet thankfully helps but well as I said we feel so helpless.

This morning's update is that he's still having a lot of trouble breathing (from the huge tumor and fluid accumulation because of it) so they're moving him to ICU to keep a closer watch and also probably to tap the fluids from his belly. Poor kids a pin cushion.

Well, thank God I can go out for a run to try to rid some of the tension and also thank God I have so many dear friends who understand. Thanks.

Did you get to keep the deer? I know, the 2015's are pretty nice, all right! We drove one after getting hit in the rear end, it was the one the insurance provided for the time the car was being repaired. Our rental was a Nissan Sentra. emoticon

Hi Tuffy,
thanks for your comments on my BLOG tonight.
I sure am glad I'mm not the only one who feels the elliptical is such a challenge. I feel as if I am running the entire time I am on it so with doing a mile today, I would say that II did pretty good.
Many have voiced concern with the high heart rate I went up to so tomorrow if I see it go over 164 which is my MHR, I will either slow down or stop. I am not going fast to begin with at 60 RPM's

Thanks again
Susan emoticon
