Red and me - Aug. 3, 2015
Sis as my coach - Aug. 3, 2015
Riding my off-track race horse bareback. I never thought I'd see the day. He's such a good boy!
My name is Pat and I am retired from a full-time sedentary job (of 30 years).
I have been a fitness enthusiast for many years and have explored (and enjoyed) many different activities, including running, treadmill/elliptical work, weight training, figure skating, sychronized swimming, and some downhill skiing.
I recently rekindled an old love for horseback riding and hope to continue with and improve that.
To maintain current weight and fitness level - actually I hope to improve the latter.
I achieved my previous goal - to have my LBD fit as well February 2011 as it did February 2010. I was determined not to be one of those women who retire and gain 40-50 pounds ... I am not.
New goal: Continue to work toward better fitness level and improve my riding skills.
Become a better horseback rider.
4-5 cardio workouts per week
Strength training at least 3 x per week.
I live in small town Ontario, Canada. I share my home with my husband, a Timneh African grey parrot, one lovebird, and 2 cockatiels.
I have 2 wonderful adult children, one awesome DIL, and one brilliant, gorgeous, funny, charming, grandson. (and yes I'm totally besotted)
I am an avid reader, enjoy taking courses and have recently rekindled 2 old loves - quilting and horseback riding.
I have made many friends on SP and am so very glad I stumbled across the website in March/09.

I was so happy to see your comment today on my blog but not so glad to see that you've been fighting to get back into the right routine. Ugh...life has a way of throwing stuff in our paths. But we're still here working at it and as long as we are, we'll never be failures. Think spring!

Thanks for stopping by my page to read my newest blog and leaving your kind comment. I went back to the wound care center today, but the insurance co is holding up issuing the wound vac, so I still don't have it. Hoping that it will be approved and sent by next Tuesday, when I have to go back.

Thank you so much for the New Year wishes. Yes, I know what you mean about the shoveling exercise. But I always did the shoveling here and my DH always did the plowing. When he died, I tried the plowing for a while, but it is so boring, I had to hire it out. I enjoy making wood, but I don't do the chain saw, mainly cause the ones that I have are older and I can't do the pull thing. I wish the best for you and Mr. TB for 2016!! I pray for a speedy recovery, and not a lot of snow for you to shovel. I hope you are enjoying Red. Take care my friend.

So glad that your hubby is doing better! I know that shoveling snow is a no-no for heart patients! I hope that his recovery progresses quickly and he is soon back to his old self!
