Hi everyone,
I'm excited to be creating my page on SparkPeople, and to have the accountability of this website to track my health goals. I would like to lost about 7 or 8 lbs. and run a 5k by mid-December.
I have had a serious history of heart disease. In December, it will be two years since the surgery and I'm doing great. I didn't have traditional risk factors, and I'm passionate about educating other women about cardiac health. I plan on being around a ...

I plan on being around a long time, and want to make sure that I do my best to control what I can, and live a heart-healthy life. Best of luck on all your goals.

Establishing healthy habits will not only help you lose weight but be good for your heart too. I always say to focus on being healthy, let the weight loss be a bonus!

I've been a member a little more than two years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained 30 back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going!
