I don't belong to a gym and I can't afford fancy foods so my weight loss is strictly due to lifestyle changes like walking everywhere I can, using dumbells at home, eating more veggies and finding the lowest calorie options in restaurants, switching from diet soda to green tea and drinking coffee black with cinnomin instead of cream and sugar. I also started taking fish oil supplements just before Halloween. And I owe much of my success to logging in here almost everyday, actively participating in the teams and blogging regularly.
In addition to the 33 pounds lost I have also lost about 22 inches overall, though I didn't start measuring untill about 3 weeks after joining.

Month 2 Sparkaversary: Lost 20 pounds and 11 inches!!
Month 3 Sparkaversary: Lost 23 pounds and 14 inches!!
Month 4 Sparkaversary: Lost 30 pounds and 19.75 inches!!
Month 5 Sparkav ersary: Lost 33.5 pounds and 23.5 inches!!
Month 6 Sparkav ersary: Lost 40.5 pounds and 22 inches!! (YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT i GAINED 1/2 INCHES BUT I'M WALKING WAY MORE)

In ways you can clearly see and in ways you'll never understand, your expectations become your reality. What you expect most sincerely and persistently, you experience.
All that is within you constantly works to meet the expectations you set for yourself and for your world. You will see, and hear, and touch, and taste, and learn, and achieve whatever you expect.

When those around you are filled with dismay, it is easy to expect the worst. Yet surprisingly, it is just as easy to expect the best when you simply choose to do so, and a whole lot more beneficial.

Begin each day with the confident expectation of specific achievements. At the end of the day, most of those expectations will have been met.

Expectation compels you to find a way. Expectation taps into the large and rich store of resources in your life.

Expect the best of yourself and of those around you. For you truly have the power to make those expectations real.

emoticon The scale didn't move for me at all this week. Of course I'm not particularly be surprised considering my complete leap off the bandwagon and onto the "couch of doom" for most of last week. In fact it could have been much, much worse. Your challenge was such a wonderful idea and really helped things from going down into the chocolate death spiral emoticon .
So, look out for me on week two! I've got my mojo back and am ready to do this thing! emoticon emoticon

I found your page off of the shoestring team and find it very motivational for me. I started at 1 lb heavier than you and looking to reach the same goal weight. I have 4 children but 5 if you include my BF little girl. I thought it was cool that you have the same amount of children and have managed to fit this into your lifestyle. Keep up the good work. emoticon

Yes, you are on my list. Thanks for reminding us of the simple things we often take for granted. Things we would notice only if we didn't have them.

I've sent you a few goodies but noticed that they are not on your page....??

Have a great day!

I re-set my goals and starting weight and end weight... I needed to start with a clean slate because my yoyoing was not helping me. When I look at it - I'm really only down 3lbs from January this am - at 172 and can't keep comparing to the other months... so it's my attempt to reboot my motivation... hoping it works.
