First of all, thanks for stopping by my page!

Second, previously in this section I talked about being overweight my whole life. That part is true--but, I don't want to dwell on that anymore. I want to dwell on the fact that I don't have to be overweight for the rest of my life and I am finally being successful at becoming healthy. This may be because I have made being healthy my main objective rather than making losing weight my goal. A change in thinking has made a huge difference. It wasn't easy to retrain years of thinking. I still work on it, daily.

On Memorial Day of this year I began the Spark Solution and let me tell you, it is hard and time consuming work...but it is working and so worth it!! I have lost 35 lbs. so far and I am still counting. My first goal was to lose 25lbs by Labor Day...I met that with a week to spare. My next goal is to lose 15 more by the end of the year for a total of 40 lbs. I have 5 more lbs. to go on that one. Losing 40lbs is not my final goal weight, but it does put me over half way to the final number. My knees and feet feel so much better! I breathe better. My attitude is better. My drive is better. In my transition, I have been able to let a lot of mental and emotional things go, which has helped tremendously. I finally get that I am only accountable for myself and I cannot put blame on anyone or anything any longer.

I do worry sometimes that I will backslide and some times it's hard...but again, so very worth it. I feel I have the tools to keep me moving forward even if I do take a step or two backwards.

I will keep working and I will keep loving it!!!

My Goals:
1. I will practice at least one healthy coping skill/day from the following list to deal with daily stressors;
A. Deep breathing
B. Stretching
C. Exercising
D. Playing my guitar, piano, or drums.
E. Listening to music.
F. Listening to guided imagery CD's.
G. Writing.
H. Reading.

2. I will exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes until I increase my stamina, then I will increase the times and duration.

3. I will eat at least 3 fresh fruits and vegetables/day.

4. I will eat healthy snacks daily.

5. I will Spark daily.

6. I will cook non-processed foods as much as I can-time permiting
