Time to Be Active!!

Always been fairly active but never in the best of shape and I finally got tired of being excessively overweight. Managed to lose about 40-45 lbs. before my wedding in March of '09 and was doing well. Ran a few 5K's, 10K's and the '10 Disney Half Marathon but I'm currently going to take a hiatus from hard core exercise for a little after the Miami ING since we are expecting our first baby in August! But I do want to make sure I remain active and healthy to be able to have a healthy baby and to ...

But I do want to make sure I remain active and healthy to be able to have a healthy baby and to make it easier to lose the weight afterwards. I also want to be a good role model to start them off right with healthy habits!

My Goals:
~ Have a healthy pregnancy!

~Get back to a healthy weight and live a healthier lifestyle.

~Learn habits that I can use to help friends and family and one day pass on to my future kids so they don't become part of the child obesity problem.

~Be able to wear fabulous clothes and look good doing it!

~Train for and finish the 20th Anniversary Disney Marathon in a few years.

My Program:
~Cardio 5-6 times a week either running, spinning, elliptical, or workout DVD's.

~Strength training at least 2 or 3 days a week.

~Yoga and pilates DVD's twice a week.

Hi! I am not as young as you are, but have always been very active, but now overweight. I am looking for some motivation and I thought maybe training for the Tropical 5K Minimarathon could be the thing. Are you going to run this or the 1/25 ING Marathon? If so, are you training for this? If you are, maybe we could get together for this. I live on Key Biscayne but have my office in West Kendall, so everyday I drive by UM. Anyway, if interested, leave me a note on my SparkPage.

Nothing, like coming right to the point, huh? I've been trying hard to motivate people on MiamiSpark to do something as a team, but no luck yet, but I'll keep plugging.

Hi! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and on running the Disney 1/2 marathon -- that is an awesome accomplishment! I am still working on running longer than a half hour without having to stop. Baby steps, baby steps. I did the C25K program and hope to run a 5K someday.
