2013- The year of change

My name is Michelle. I have been battling with weight issues since the birth of my first baby. I gained way to much weight in pregnancy and went from 125 lbs to 147 lbs. I got pregnant right away when my oldest was 3 months old and I gained another 50 lbs with that pregnancy putting me at about 170 after the birth. I had my third baby 18 months after and not even sure about how much I gained but I had a serious weight problem after he was born weighing in at 193. I lost 30 lbs in a year then ...

I had my third baby 18 months after and not even sure about how much I gained but I had a serious weight problem after he was born weighing in at 193. I lost 30 lbs in a year then had another baby.

I went through a divorce lost some weight and got a bit back in shape. I got remarried in 2009 and we got pregnant 3 months later. I gave birth in October of 2010 and I got pretty heavy with her too. I must just be one of those people that gains a lot during pregnancy. I had lost all of my pregnancy weight and got down to 186 lbs by 6 weeks postpartum. I don't know what happened but I gained 10 lbs and struggled to find time to exercise with a fussy baby and lack of sleep (plus 3 other children to care for). Now that she is getting a little older I am finding more time to do for me. I Currently weigh as of my last weigh-in 197.4 My first goal is to just lose 10 lbs. I have no time frame really, I just want to get there.



Update June 2012:

Ok well I got pregnant again in August of 2011 and just had my baby a month ago. I did a great job of controlling weight gain and diet this time with a total weight gain of 26 lbs. I am going to put my pre-pregnancy weight as my start weight and then will update again at the end of June. I will not be able to exercise for another 4 weeks because I had a c-section this time but because of diet change plus breastfeeding I actually weigh less now than I did before pregnancy!


January 2013:
So I had to stop exercising for a while. I had a lot of issues post c-section that made it painful to exercise. Then I got pregnant again but it was a tubal pregnancy and I had to have surgery which also meant I couldn't work out anymore. I am determined to put an end to fat Michelle THIS YEAR. I plan to buy a juicer next month and I have stopped eating meat ( except for fish). I gained a little bit but thankfully not more than a couple of lbs. which I expected since i just lost a pregnancy at 2 months. Anyway if at first you don't succeed try try again right?

Starting Fresh in 2013:

Weight/Inches lost:

Original start weight: 201.2 lbs

SW = 192.2 lbs ( August 2011 pre-pregnancy)
6/1/12 = 190.2 lbs( 2 weeks postpartum 2 lb loss)
7/1/12 = 182.4 lbs ( 9.8 lbs total loss)

Had to take a break from exercising for a while and had a pregnancy loss (ectopic). Back on the mark to lose the rest of this weight mentally and physically.

2/1/13 = 189.2 (gain of 8 lbs from last weigh-in. Total loss = 12 lbs.)
3/1/13 = 189.2 (no change)
4/1/13 = 186.8 ( 2.4 lb. loss from last month. Total loss = 14.4 lbs.)

My Goals:
My first immediate goal is to lose 5 lbs. I would like to accomplish this by June 30, 2011 **Goal met July 4th!**

Next goal: 20 lb total loss by July 31, 2012
**Goal met July 15th**

Next Goal: 30 lb total loss by March 31, 2012

Long-term though I want to weigh about 140 lbs. So I am looking at close to a 60 lb total weight loss.

Having your thyroid checked is great idea. A full metabolic panel is a good place to start. As someone with endocrine problems, my experience is that generalists are not very good at diagnosing these issues. An OB-GYN is a better choice if you have one that you like. If you don't get answers and you still feel like something isn't right, don't be afrid to see a specialist. Sometimes it takes an endocrinologist to get to the bottom of these things.

Even if your ability to exercise is limited, you could still try doing more precise food tracking. It's quite tedious at first, but it really works!

Visualizing is one of the best way to see yourself as you should be healthy. I sit in my chair every morning now and see myself as I wish to be. And boy what a differences in my motivation.

First things first, the thinking emoticon can be more important then the doing?

Never heard of a home being build without plans, or even a recipe for a delicious meal.
