Update: Oct 21, 2012: 20 pounds are now gone - so slowly! About 20 to go! I am halfway there, or more, depending on the results. I am shooting for 125 to 130. The thyroid, perimenopause and my age make this so difficult. Low carb seems to work better for me (and I love my carbs!), so I have been lowering those and adding more strength training. I need to be more consistent with both food and exercise if I want to get there!

Prior:
The last 3 years have been difficult weight-wise. I quit smoking and then my thyroid died. I need to turn this around. I try to stay hopeful, but fighting my age, menopause, my thyroid and my slow metabolism makes this a hard mountain to climb! So far, I have lost 10 pounds, not even an average of half pound a month. Very discouraging! I need to work twice as hard to get anywhere, but my body just does not want to do it!

My Goals:
Lose weight, shape up, and get healthy. And survive the experience. I would really like to be below 130 again, though 120 is probably the correct weight for my challenged height. But I will be happy with 130!

My Program:
I am working with DVDs, a recumbent bike, a rowing machine and the Wii to get myself back in shape. I need to be more consistent! The Sunny Gal team helps to keep me focused.

Personal Information:
I am married, with one daughter, and two grandkids - a girl and a boy. Unfortunately, they live across the country and we do not see them often enough.

Other Information:
I love to read, garden, surf the internet (especially SP) and play with my puppies.

Good Morning Nancy,

Since today is the official start of the challenge I thought I would officially give ya a kick in the tush!!! Here is hoping that you have a great start to the challenge! We have got this! Together we shall persevere.

This one is a tough one for some people, Took me a while to learn I needed to do this for me. "Sometimes I forget putting myself first isn't selfish BUT necessary".

They will say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. They will tell you no. A thousand times no. Until all the no's become meaningless.
