Me, June 28, 2013 - Our Wedding Day!
I'm Marjorie, an over 50, wiser, & heavier version of the girl I once was. I am in the right place in my head to take on the challenge of creating a healthier me. My long term goal is to lose about half of me, and gain muscle & strength in the process. (However long it takes!) I just got married in June, for the first time in my life @ 54 years, in France! My soul mate (now husband!) & I moved here in November 2012. (He's from Paris) Life is so good now, and will only get better over the coming years. I'm thrilled with all I've been finding here at SparkPeople & am looking forward to continuing this new journey with and getting to know y'all! Woo Hoo!!! :-)
My Shorter term goal is: Lose enough weight by next summer to fit into my dream wedding dress. I don't know what that number is, nor do I know what that dress looks like yet. I just know it will feel right when I attain that.
My longer term goal: To lose about half of the current me. It may ultimately be more or less, who knows. But whatever that outcome is, I will be fitter, healthier, and more active. I'm so excited to be on this journey!! :-)
I am tracking my portions & what I eat. I do not feel deprived or uncomfortable at all, like I had been on previous diets & programs. I'm already starting to feel healthier, and feel for the first time that I will be able to actually do this! I am not very active yet. I am wearing a pedometer everywhere, even in the house now. I am increasing my steps a bit at a time. My husband is backing me 100% on all of this, though he insists I must be doing it just for me since he loves me no matter what weight I am. (the sweetheart!) I drink water constantly & step by step, I am becoming "less of me."
I am Marjorie. originally from New England. I l moved to Normandy France in November 2012 and am totally loving it here!! We just got married last month (June) and my mom moved here to live with us then too. She'll be 90 in December & is quite a challenge! Life is becoming more of an adventure by the day - onward & upward! :-)
I live by the adage: "What wisdom can be found that is greater than kindness?" And also "If it's not fun, why do it?"
I love to read, meet new people, am an environmental activist, am creative in making or repurposing things, am a massage therapist (human) & currently studying animal massage. I love to cook & bake, & am enjoying "skinnifying" recipes to make them healthier & lower calorie. I love cars (used to be a mechanic), and worked professionally in Finance for 28 years when one day I got fed up & quit. That was over 3 years ago - best thing I ever did for myself. lol.... Anything you want to know, ask. You never know, I may just tell you! ;-)

Hey Girlfriend.... How ya doing? Congrats on the weight loss!!! We must be doing something right. We both started out at 317 and you're at 298 and I'm at 295. I just wish it didn't take so long to lose. I want out of this fat body that I am in.
