it becomes easier to be that authentic person and feel like you're living a less performed life" -- John Green I spent most of my childhood, teens, and 20's feeling unworthy, isolated, and broken .. struggling with obesity, depression & anxiety. I was lost in a negative reality and no one could help me get out of it, until I helped myself and looked within. Now I'm discovering my innate value and I'm mastering the art of unlearning and reprogramming my brain in order to live life the way I want to live it. I am taking full responsibility for my own health and happiness. I am committed to loving and accepting myself at any size. May we all discover our own agency, worth, and interconnectedness in this lifetime :) **UPDATE** shortly after my 30th birthday I was diagnosed as bipolar and diabetic. Now I'm working to find the right medications and rejoining Spark to find my way to a healthier lifestyle.

    1. Resist 'free' office food. That I struggled with, but, it's necessary. 2. the freezer is your friend when you're busy with work. I bulk cook proteins and put into freezer bags about once a month. Faster than fast food to reheat those and quick and easy to log into the sparkpeople app. 3. Special occasions happen too often to indulge in them all, so make them REAL exceptions for things you really want... not just cause it's Jim-Bob's birthday, then Joe's retirement, then Susan's babyshower or the weekly team lunch out, or you know Gary stops every Thursday at the X and offers to bring you something while he's there. 4. Since this is a new gig, establish your habits right off... you may be the girl who 'doesn't like pastries' or the chick who brings in her mini blender to make smoothies for lunch. It's easier to keep with what people know of you so you don't also have to fight 'oh that's not what you usually do' comments... just, oh that's the new girl and that's her thing.
