I think it's time to completely rewrite this. I'm a 40-year-old female living with my boyfriend, my dog and my cat way out in the country in Northern Michigan. I'm a daily YouTube vlogger at TkDwVlogs.com and I love music and art. I have 3 kids, a 12-year-old daughter, and 19-year-old son and daughter, who are twins. I've been overweight since I was 6, but I really exploded after having my twins in 1997. I gained 100 lbs. in 6 months after the birth! It only got worse, ending up at 335 lbs.! I had no self-esteem and I was always in pain, especially my ankles, which could not support all that weight. I'd come home from work just crippled right up every night! I'm very lucky I never got diabetes, high blood pressure, or had a heart attack or stoke! I was told my one doctor that I would, "drop dead." I also went through a lot of abusive relationships because the guys knew I had no self esteem and that they could treat me like garbage. Finally on Feb. 6, 2014 I bought an exercise bike and started riding it every single day. I used Sparkpeople to track all my food, and I cut out all sweets, chips, deep-fried foods, greasy meats, and any other highly fattening garbage. I started eating a lot of fish, chicken breast, fruits, vegetables, and drank a lot of water. I also completely cut out pop, even diet. I measured all my food and no longer took heaping helpings, and I never took seconds. Over 9 months' time I went from 335 to 185! I looked and felt so much better! I was shocked to find clothes that were actually way too big for me! For years I couldn't find clothes big enough in the stores anymore. I finally started getting self-esteem and the depression I dealt with since I was 15 went away. I had tons of energy. Everyone around me was amazed. Unfortunately, after meeting my boyfriend and moving in with him I started slipping up on my eating and exercise, and over the next year and a half or so I gained back 50 lbs. Ugh! (It's not his fault, though, it's mine.) After a lot of failed attempts, I have finally managed to stop drowning and I've gotten everything back under control. My first mini goal is to get back under 200 lbs. and then to get back to 185 where I was before, and then the final goal is to get to 135 lbs., or as close to it as I can get. I don't really expect to get that low because I wrecked my body by letting it get to 335 lbs. for 17 years, so I will always have excess hanging skin that I cannot afford the surgery to remove, but I will get as close as I can. I know I can do it because I did it before. Thankfully I didn't get all the way back to 335 before I got everything back under control!
Short term: To keep on eating right, exercising and using sparkpeople.com
Long term: To lose all my extra weight and keep it off for life.
Following Sparkpeople's exercise suggestions and keeping my eating in check. Documenting everything I eat and drink to make sure I am within the limits SP set for me and recording all my exercise. Riding my exercise bike for 60 minutes a day and doing strength exercises everyday, as well as walking when the weather is not frigid or rainy. Staying away from grease, salt and sugar. No pop. No seconds. No heaping helpings. Lots of water.
