My name is Kris and I am a mom to boy/girl twins who are currently six years old - My biggest inspiration for losing the weight.

I've been on SP since early 2008 with many ups and downs. As of 12/3/2012, I have been going STRONG and am DETERMINED to battle this morbid obesity once and for all. It's going to be a wild ride, but I am up for the challenge. Come and join me, and check out my blog! :)

My Goals:
My overall goal is to get down to 125 lbs.

Short term goals:

May 18th 2013 - 200 lbs.

September 3rd 2013(Labor Day/End of Summer) - 170 lbs.

New Years 2014 - 160 lbs

More to come!!

My Program:
I am following a typical lower-calorie, lower-fat diet to achieve my goals. I am not only looking for weight loss, but also an overall improvement in health. I have several health concerns that can be addressed through weight loss, proper diet, and a good fitness program. This has worked for me in the past. My diet is focused on eating PLENTY of fruits and vegetables (I strive for 8+ servings/day), lean meats, a lot of whole grains, and some low-fat dairy. The occasional treat slips through as well...I am only human, after all! :)

I also exercise 5 days per week. 80% is cardio and 20% is strength training at the moment. I go to the gym for the most part, but do occasionally walk outdoors as well as use hand weights at home.

Other Information:
"Any experience can be transformed into something of value. Everything depends on the way you look at things. You cannot have the success without the failures." (Unknown)

"Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday." (Unknown)

"Your body is the baggage you must carry through life. The more excess the baggage, the shorter the trip."

Change in schedules are always challenging..especially when kids are involved. My kids are older and always ask why they have to go to the Boys/Girls Club on vacation days when I get them off too and they could just stay home. My big answer to that is I need to spend the day cleaning without being interrupted. I also use the time to spend extra time at the gym..so now that they have memberships, I give them the choice to come with me there.

When they were younger it was much harder, so kudos to you that you are doing this with so much going on. I was just thinking about this last night, how I would not have been able to head to the gym at 8 pm because my daughter had sleep issues and would cry if I left at night. It does get better, not easier in some ways, but better. Hang in there! emoticon

Belated birthday wishes to you . . . hope you had a great day.

So glad you are with us on the Rockin' Reds team, and I love the photo of you with your twins. They are just adorable.

So, are you ready for the 2013 Spring Melt Off Challenge? As one of the co-leaders, I'm looking for any ideas you might have to keep everyone inspired, so please Sparkmail or drop a note on my wall to let me know if there is something unique you can think of to keep us motivated for ten weeks. All ideas are welcome . . . we're in this together.

Go Rockin' Reds!
