This is 2016 and time for some new Goals, As I age, this year I turn 76, so I'm still trying to keep my body healthy, moving and full of energy.
Basically, I want to do 3 days of Strength exercise and 2 days of Cardio. I have to walk at least 30 minutes a day on the treadmill. Walking my dog Silver, but I have to make some changes to this. Last month he hurt his Rear left leg and has torn his Cruclate Ligament. He has hurt it so that he is only walking on three legs. The Doctor said that since Silver is 13 years old, considered too old for repairing it through the operation. Until then if he uses the other leg too much he might also tear the ligament in his good leg. We don't want that to happen so we are having to stop our walks.. I am taking up the slack by going to the Gym, I ride my recumbent bicycle, for at least 15 minutes a day.
I really hate to be labeled and old person. I know I have some new wrinkles on my face, and now almost all grey hair, but I sure don't want to be slow in movement, like most old people. I know with time my body will slow down as I'm sure it will, but I'm not ready for that yet. I will keep it moving and trying to be strong, as long as I can. When I do start the do that I guess I will just have to put up with that label. From going to the Gym through my Health Insurance Co. Kaiser, using "Silver and Fit" They sent me a nice Base Ball Cap, and on Jan. 23 I received a very nice "Silver and Fit Pin" I have copies of them in my Photos Page.

Sparks always has some interesting suggestion and articles with different Helps and Aids. I love to follow their exercise plans that they offer.

I am Working on doing my strength training exercises three times a week, walking, Stationary Bike riding, Nordic Rider and Weight machine.
I go to the Gym in the Mornings on Mom.Wed. and Fri.
I Try to do the eating plan that I have in my program counting calories, with a balance of 5 Fruit, Veg. and Protein. Drink my Water 8 or 9 - 8 oz. a day.

I am a Texas girl, from deep in the heart of Texas, living in Calif.
We came to California in 1965, We now live just outside of Sacramento, Ca.
I've been married 58 years, had 5 daughters, youngest is 36 year old, with Down's syndrome she still lives at home. My oldest daughter, lives close-by, and my only grand daughter lived in Canada, and has moved here in April 2012.
In March 1977 we had a house fire and at that time 3 or my 4 daughters died, Bonnie, Tammy and Marilu. We are all Christians and we have faith, and plan to see our daughters again in Heaven, as well as all of our ancestors and those that have also trusted Christ as their savior. (John 3:16) In Dec 1978 my youngest daughter was born.
I have one Miniature Poodle named Silver, that has a long tail and two cats, Cleo and Farrah.
