Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.
Many people take the first step and stop.
Yet, with every additional step you take, you enhance immensely
the value of your first step.

All masters of success are chiefly distinguished by their power
of adding a second, a third and perhaps a forth step in a
continuous line.

There is no royal road to anything.
One thing at a time, all things in succession is the rule of life.
That which grows fast, withers as rapidly.
That which grows slowly, endures.
Do not despise the bottom rings in your ascent to greatness.

My Goals:
2010 finds me joyous! Yes, joyous, no matter what the scale says. Life is amazing, and this year will bring many many changes. For the first time in 23 years, my husband and I will be alone in our house!!! Freaky.

Looking forward to NOT having to cook for others, though. Should make things easier on the weight-loss front.

Whoa. That seems a little extreme! Although I did pick up an apron. ;) They have really beautiful stuff, I can definitely see how she'd want to live in a world of Anthropologie! HEheee.

LOL! THERE you are! It's sounds like your trip was wonder-FULL, and your dughter sounds very special... but how could she not be... she's YOUR daughter.

I just re-read this and decided it was more 'private voice' than 'public voice' so I'm sparkmailing the rest!

Hey there, you Fab-Fifties(eventually)-Fit-Fillie, you! THANK YOU for your comment... I felt a lot less vulnerable and alone. Thanks, too, for the links... I'll be checking those out!

It's interesting... what you've noticed about people a bit older than you... I've been watching, too. In fact, it's specifically looking for people a little bit older than me on Spark, and wondering what is/isn't working for them, that brought me to my current plan. I will do pretty much whatever I need to do to push that 'fragility' right back, and stave it off for as long as I can afterward. My daughter is only 5! And I have so much more dancing I want to do!

Having you marching along beside me makes it all seem more a grand and amazing lark. THANK YOU!

Your joke of the day:

A couple in their early 60's was celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant. Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table. She said, "For being such an exemplary married couple and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish."

The wife answered, "Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband." The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.

The husband thought for a moment: "Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again. I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than I." The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish. So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof !! the husband became 93 years old.

The moral of this story: Men who are ungrateful jerks should remember fairies are female..... emoticon

Hope you are having a good one.

Hi VJ,
Thanks for the comment on my Fat Linda blog this weekend. If we send these chicks away, it'll be a one-way ticket for sure.
