emoticon Hello there and emoticon to the Calling All Canadians team!

What I love on Spark People is that the support is unlimited! You need motivation, read up on the success stories and/or post a query and someone will be there to help you along. It is always difficult to start something new but Spark People make it so easy for us all to achieve our ultimate goals. Take it step by step: a) study the site, b) incorporate good habits from the beginning, c) start exercising, etc.

Another thing, do not rely solely on the scale as a measure of success. Scales can play tricks with your mind. Do measure yourself with a tape measure and verify occasionally the progress you are making. Also, use clothing as a way to measure your progress. Set reasonable goals for yourself -- losing 4 lbs in one month and not 20 for example.
