Aiming for Slow, Sustainable Weight Loss

Hi! I'm 31 years old and have about 50 pounds to lose. I really want to focus on slow, sustainable weight loss, with the realization that any changes I make now in my diet and exercise have to be things I can continue for the rest of my life.

Though I haven't experienced heart disease or diabetes yet, my family history is such that I know I will be headed down that road if I don't take better care of myself. I want to focus on living the healthiest life I can.

Though I haven't experienced heart disease or diabetes yet, my family history is such that I know I will be headed down that road if I don't take better care of myself. I want to focus on living the healthiest life I can.

I have been happily married for five years. My husband and I don't have any kids yet, but we'd like to soon, and I'd really like to be as healthy as possible for the sake of any future kids.

Currently, I go to Curves 3-4 times each week, and I have an exercycle that I ride on some of the non-Curves days. I've also been trying to eat more healthfully. Some of my challenges are that I like to eat out too much, and that it seems like there is never enough time for everything that has to get done!

Hello Friend,

This is a little difficult for me this week, because we are unsure of what we will find when we make it back to Houston. Whatever the circumstances may be, I am thankful to be safe and know that any material possessions can be replaced. So, with that… I need an extra strong dose of inspiration:

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.

The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

And last but not least… To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.

Have a wonderful Sunday and a great week,
Missy

Dropping by with some weekend inspiration:

Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”

Hope all is well with you and yours! Take care...

Missy

Hey friend,

I just stopped by to share a couple of quotes on commitment… I hope all is going well and I can’t wait to hear from you. Enjoy your Labor day!

Spectacular achievements are always preceded by unspectacular preparation. Roger Staubach

You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down. Mary Pickford

The key that unlocks energy is desire. It's also the key to a long and interesting life. If we expect to create any drive, any real force within ourselves, we have to get excited. (Browning)

Are you excited about your weight loss? I am, and with each passing day I find it difficult to contain my zeal... This is an awesome time in our lives, and we must stay full of energy and excitement.
