....::::so glad to walk with such supportive friends here at Spark People. My journey to living/maintaining a healthy lifestyle just wouldn't shine as bright without the motivating people I have come to know & love surrounding me! ...:::to journey in the company of other like minded Sparkers is enriching.

What a ...:::GIFT:::... it is just to "move"!

After losing 70 # and maintaining my loss for 2 years, I developed PF (plantar fasciitis)...:::which took me down a difficult road of: my podiatrist's order to stop ALL movement for the 1st 6 months, off/on foot pain, NO running, or even walking at first for a good while, and of course regained weight.
The most challenging aspect was when I had to stop running. However, after ordering custom made orthotic inserts, and being 100% faithful to use them 24/7, I am MOBILE! ((Praise God!))

I currently power walk 6 mornings/week covering 20 plus miles/week with my dear friend/walking buddy! Our motto is to "be TRUE to ourselves"...:::and "every step is a step of Progress". We accept our strengths & weaknesses, adapting each day to make it our BEST day!

Here's to ~ ~ ~ whatever ~ ~ ~ PROGRESS I might Live Out.


GOAL: August 22, 2008: begin weight loss journey...lose 60# slowly...take it 1 day at a time.

GOAL MET: November 2009 - lost 60#, and 51 inches down!

GOAL: Maintain 60# loss, and increase strength endurance, lose inches too...(my FAV kind of loss!)

GOAL MET: November 2010 - I have maintained my 60# loss, an additional 12 inches GONE!! & I'm CRAVING Strength training and cardio!!!, ...this healthy lifestyle is MY LIFESTYLE now!! I own it!

GOAL: June 2012 - Due to a motorist accident, I gained 8# and lost time during the recovery period....I need to regain strength, endurance and ideal weight....once again!

GOAL MET: October 2012 Made my goal!! ...and even better than before! ...and now 3# away from my FINAL GOAL!

GOAL MET: November 2012 I reached my Final Goal!! ..::::65# gone Forever! Now to range weight is me a 22 BMI.

GOAL MET: June 2013 I reached another goal...::my body fat is now 21%!

SETBACK: February 2014 I developed plantar fasciitis, and had to STOP all fitness....being sedentary was a sort of prison for me. Then we moved (HUGE life change for my family of 6)...time flew through house remodeling and needing to stay off of my foot.

GOAL: Currently as of June 2015...I'm taking one day at a time and claiming my health...once again. Weight loss through staying on track and implementing those healthy lifestyle habits. One Day At A Time...I Can Do This.

GOAL Re-Vamped: (Progress is slowwwww....gained a total of 30# or so...but must begin with SMALL goals to get back on track) Begin in February 2017....walk 20 miles/week until my feet adapt with new orothotics.

GOAL MET: April 2017 Down 16# and feet are HAPPY!

GOAL: June of 2017 Add running 2x/week to my routine...see how my feet adapt...

GOAL MET: August of 2017...running 2 miles/3x/week, and feet are Happy!

...::I have adopted several favorite weekly full body cardio/strength training routines that I LOVE 6 days/week. These workouts always keep me challenged! There are always options to change things up and increase challenge levels....all is so versatile & effective!

    Hey There:-) Checking in to make sure you're still kicking butt emoticon I was reading an article the other day about how we should be walking for at least 15K steps a day, not 10K. So I've been pushing myself to get in that 15K a day. It keeps me more active and I've been sleeping better. So it seems to be paying off emoticon That's my goal this week. I've also been doing some shorter workouts here and there. Sometimes it's easier to get in a workout if it doesn't always have to be a long one.
