A new me!!

I have not done that well in 2013 so decided for 2014 that I would try to do better. It seems I would lose 5 lbs each time I did the 5% challenge and then would gain it back during the breaks. I am rejoining the challenge team again but plan to try to do better with my thinking this time. I've just been too lazy and this has got to stop NOW!!

Plans are to walk more and do more core exercises. I am hoping this will help my back which has gotten in bad shape the last few months. I've ...

I've noticed I've not been motivated to do much of anything so maybe if I go to bed thinking I have to get up and walk first thing in the morning that it will help.

I have already started eating better have cleared out sugary foods out of the house. I'm trying to eat more cereals for breakfast. Hubby usually cooks breakfast but he loves his ham, sausage and eggs too much. Course he doesn't have the problem with weight or high cholesterol, etc. so I need to quit being lazy about that and just put my foot down with myself and eat better.

I'm so hoping this will be a better year. Once I start the back injections to block the pain, I think I will feel more motivated and want to get out and walk more.

My Goals:
I mainly want to get down in weight so that I can breathe better and do some of the things I used to do. And to protect the joints and the joint replacements I have

My Program:
I plan to keep my daily calorie intake at about 1300 and up my movement in cardio (dance) to 10minutes per day.
Walking at least 15minutes per day.


Personal Information:
I'm Barb from Arkansas. I am a retired (due to disabilities RA) teacher. I have taught every grade from K-12 and I taught over 25 years. I have a BS in Education and a MEd in reading. I now do alot of embroidery and I love watching birds and taking photos of wild flowers. I love flowers and herbs and cooking. I also love trying new foods and new eating places.

Other Information:
I love embroidery and wool applique. I do not like winters as I tend to gain more then. I love the outdoors but am motion challenged now.

Wow, it's a brand new day, that is a gift given to you, a gift to enjoy and discover exactly what special miracles are in it just for you.

Oh, you get so caught up in all the attitude and mind set around us, that you do not see the real beauty that around in each day. We live in a country were we have freedom. I've been in several countries where I had to be very careful and aware of everything I did. I soon realized how great it was back home with true freedom. I am especially joyful because I can walk again. It may not be as well as I could before, but I can walk, just no running this time. And to have a mind that can figure out things, remember things and hold onto memories...wow, that is awesome.

Today I hope you take the time to see and discover all the special miracles that are in your day. You see, it's not about what we don't have, it's about what you do have. What is right there in front of you, all around you. Don't rob yourself of all the beauty in joy that is in today. Instead find it, embrace it and cherish it in your memories. Enjoy your special gift of today.

Well, it looks like I am getting better, however, still have to take it easy for awhile. All this is teaching me something, easy does it. Just moving and doing something each day will lead to a giant step forward. It took me a long time to get this fat. I won't get thinner in a few days. Yet, I will if I just keep at it, little by little.

No, I may not be able to do six hours of heavy cleaning, but I can do a 15 min. clean-up, a 27 Fling Boggie, get 2-3 loads of laundry done and do my chair exercises, and feel like a million. Now that's awesome when I think about it.

So you may not feel like doing much today, but you can do something and that something just might be awesome too. Today is amazing Monday--No Excuses Allowed. Today is a Perfect Day to Just Do What You Can and Feel Good.

Hi, Well I finally reached that point where I am sick and tired about looking I do and feeling like I do. This gave me the kick in the pants to start my 100 day get healthy project. Today I am on day 4!! My first two day I over did exercising and paid a price called pain. Today, I did much better and I watching my portion size, plus eating three meals daily, NOT drinking soda, also walking and dancing for exercise. It's only day four, but I can feel my stomach has gone down emoticon emoticon
