Vicki, thanks for the comment on my page. I am pleased that I lost weight during the Fall Challenge. My first time to participate in a 5% challenge...didn't hit that mark, but I did loose! Thanks for the encouragement!

That's funny, I was driving home a while ago and they were interviewing the Erie County executive and he was saying how parts of Buffalo got hardly any snow, while 600 yards away there could be 5 feet of it. So you were one of the lucky ones, eh?

I knew that about type 2 diabetes - it has the same consequences as type 1 once your glucose numbers get up there. That's why I've gotten religion!

Also funny you should ask about the job. I've been waiting a month for the next county board meeting, on Nov. 17, where they submit the names of new substitutes, and I was expecting to start work next week. Only, I just found out a few hours ago that I didn't pass my FBI background check, which they've known since Oct. 24 but nobody bothered to tell me. I have been pacing the house about to blow my top. Apparently after you flunk the background check it takes the FBI a month to send the written report to the Ohio Dept. of Education, so nobody knows why I flunked yet. But the only thing it could be is my name. I changed my last name when I remarried 15 years ago, but then continued to use my old name, and it's very messy. I had a Confidential government clearance in the 1980's when I worked for DoD contractors, so it can't be the college sit-in in 1968 where I got arrested for trespassing, and I don' t remember committing any crimes since then.

Anyway what a mess, it will probably take months to straighten out. I think I'll just hit the temp agencies next week and find some office work. I'm getting too nervous about money to enjoy my time.
