Do 2014 Summer 5% Challenge Program:

Exercise 5-6 Days every week.

Eat a healthy balanced 1200 - 1555 calories daily. Holidays, family events, vacation option: max daily calories=weight x 15 calories .
No evening snacking as much as possible

Living the Good Life:
64 oz of water daily
Track all meals
Stay within calorie range every day
Eat 3 meals a day
Daily healthy snack not to exceed 200 calories.

Personal Information:
Happily married with 3 terrific grown boys, 3 lovely grandkids, and a dog. Took an early retirement in 2009, which presented many new lifestyle changes. Have a part-time bookkeeping business going; watch granddaughter 2 days weekly.

Other Information:
Enjoy time with family and friends, reading, gardening, cooking & mini vacations.

Not only did we land but I'm the one who brought us in...that was pretty neat. emoticon And I saw that we were second in pounds lost. My team is tiny now since a few folks had to drop out so even though we have lost people, we've also lost a lot of weight. I make up 2 of those lost pounds...some others have lost much more. emoticon

I slept very well last night and am ready to get out there and walk in the pasture with Sammy, my emu. emoticon (Pretend that's an emu, not a turkey.) emoticon

So glad our SPATs are up and running again!

I totally understand about too many cooks in the garden. My husband suddenly got interested this year and was offering all kinds of opinions on how I should lay it out, which tomato plants to buy, whether to fertilize... I was getting pretty upset - the garden is my little quiet place and he was invading! I finally marked off a plot at one end and told him "this is your part of the garden, you do whatever you want here." So he put in some fancy-schmancy grafted heirloom tomatoes and has kept his nose out of the rest.

We've had great luck the last two years because he tilled up (I do let him till!) a part of the meadow behind our house that's never been used for a garden before. It's much more fertile soil than the dug-up lawn we were using before. Also I found a powdered Norwegian seaweed fertilizer on Amazon that plants seem to love. It's called Maxicrop. When I gave some to my houseplants they all immediately grew new leaves.
