Whee's Spark

For me knowledge really is power and I have learned so much at Sparkpeople. I don't always succeed at putting the good lifestyle habits into practice, but I'm making progress, building consistent behaviors, enjoying this process of living well, eating good food, moving my body, and enjoying my life!

I'm learning more about myself, that I'm better at abstaining from certain foods entirely most of the time, that I make better progress if I eat mindfully and enjoy my food and exercise mindfully so I don't wear myself out, that it's good to have fun and do the things I like to do! So paying attention to me, what works for me and what makes me happy are crucial to reaching my goals.

My Goals:
Establish better eating habits, emphasizing fruits and veggies and whole grains, and eating no more than I need. Continue exercising and enjoying how great it makes me feel!
Make relaxing and having fun an important part of my life, to avoid stress and to reconnect with those I love.

My Program:
I'm tracking calories and being careful about those fat grams (they stalk me!), working out 6 days a week with cardio workouts, 2-3 days strength training, 2 days Pilates session, and 3 days yoga practice. I've learned to focus on goals like eating fruits and veggies and exercising rather than pounds lost and this is tremendously empowering and doable!
