I'm a returning to college student, living in the Boston, MA area. I'm from Springfield, MA.
My career pursuits are currently in the area of technology engineering. I earned an AS in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1998 at Springfield Technical Community College. Shortly after that I earned a certificate in Precision Machining from Western Massachusetts Precision Machining Institute in West Springfield in 2000. I then worked for six years as a technician in various manufacturing fields in the greater Springfield area. I began exercising to lose weight in 2001 when I weighed nearly 260lbs at 5’ 10”, prior to that I studied Tei chi for about a year to calm my mind. Being my lightest weight at this height was 180lbs in 1997 I knew I could weight much less. Back then, I had been working as a casual in the Post office for about one year. It is very surprising to me I had gained over 60lbs in recent years because this position requires a lot of exercise. I believe my main problem was that I was suffering from depression, and prior to this never exercised to lose weight. At that time, I had not worked in my field of interest for greater than 1 year. I blame my short term employment positions mostly on the bad economy in that area. I mostly worked in small companies because many bigger companies were having hiring freezes, and not in the local area. I choose walking as my main exercise. I walked for hours a day on tracks in the park, around my job, anywhere I could do it. I also practiced Tie chi I learned from video instruction. I shrunk to about 200lbs in about a year. In 2003 I began working as a machinist in Northampton. I continued to walk and practice tie chi for exercise. I kept this position until sept of 2005. During the last few months I had this job I got into a car accident, and had to ride my bike from Springfield to Northampton, for a few summer months. I’ve published the bike route using the map your route tool under the title, Alden St to Yankee hill machine. The trip took me about 3hrs, that’s about 1000 calories according to this tool. The route’s train is very hilly so I wouldn’t doubt the actual calorie burned varies greatly. In 2005 after spending three years as machinist for about $9.00 an hour I decided to progress in my career I needed to continue my education, and move to an area with a lower unemployment rate. In sept of 2005, I moved to Boston, MA and began pursuing a BS in Electronics Engineering Technology at Wentworth Institute. I've been living in Boston, working, and pursuing my education for about five years and will graduate in Aug 2005. I plan on pursuing a graduate degree from NU in Technical communication for computer engineering, and Business for Technology. Within the last two years I began regularly practicing aerobics and weight lifting. I’ve gathered most of my information from core fitness, workout box, this and various other internet information websites. Nice to see you posting on the local Western Mass/Pioneer Valley area team. Not sure about stuff in Ware since I don't quite go there, but there are lots of gyms around. I'm sure you will find something.

There not actual gifts just icons. What the point of giving that? I'd like actual tools. I'm not the world's best handy man. emoticon
