Wendy, you are worth it! Nana - itīs time to move!

I am a 53 year old woman of British origin living in Germany. I have three beautiful daughters and 1 sweet granddaughter. Before finding SparkPeople, I had been podgy and unfit for at least 7 years and was fed up (to the gills) of that - itīs time to move! I am reading a lot about self-sabotage and mindless eating - I want to eat fattening things when I am bored, upset and funnily enough when I am chatting away on the phone....

I am 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighed in at 67 kilos ...

I am 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighed in at 67 kilos in August 2012 - I reached my goal weight of 58 kilos in April 2013.

June 2013: getting to grips with maintenance mode and very relieved that I am managing to incorporate exercise (mainly walking and elliptical) on a regular basis to my new active lifestyle- I really feel out of sorts now if I have a lazy day!!

March 14: drinking my greens for a change - hope the scales like them too!! At the moment I am working on getting below 58 kg again, 59.4 kg at the moment, so it can be done!

Sept 14: my weight is hovering in the 59 kg range, but I am fine with that as long as I keep moving and eating wholesome food!

My Goals:
I want to look better in clothes, feel more confident at work and just to move at a faster pace than up til now and have more general energy.
Update 8th April 2013: I have lost 9 kilos and definately look more streamlined in my clothes. I move a lot faster than I used to and enjoy running up stairs, jogging through the park or whizzing around on my bike now. My bosses and co-workers have noticed that I question decisions more often and make suggestions on how to re-assess certain work processes - all in all, I have come a long way in the last 8 months!

My Program:
tracking my nutrition and fitness and jogging/walking as well as a dumbbell-workout and general gymnastics/dancing in the sitting room.

Other Information:
March 2013: I have lost about 90% of the weight I want to get rid of - feeling postive that I will make it this time around - I am fed up of giving up!!
Update April 2013: I am within 100 grams of my goal weight of 58kg and am amazed at all the changes I have been able to make in the last 8 months thanks to SparkPeople and all itīs brave Sparkies!
Update 18.4.13: I weighed in at 57.7kg, surpassing my goal - WooHoo!
I write different types of lyrics and poems, sing in a female choir and enjoy travelling to different countries as well as reading quite a lot. I also love gardening!

Thank you so much for your encouragement and goodie Wendy! Indeed, I am starting to feel much better. And I noticed tonight that even my left knee (which had been painful for years) hardly hurt at all anymore when I climb the stairs... Wow, this is fantastic and makes me so glad! I have also started to put on clothes I haven't been able to wear since 2011 (last time I was this weight), in particular a lovely little red coat that I loved! I know I won't be able to wear it next winter, so I am wearing it all the time now rather than my black one, now a bit too big! Life is good!
