slow but sure

I am starting over. The weight has crept back on this past year and I just don't feel well at all. My good habits have gone by the wayside. So....as of today I have set new goals: Lose 14 lbs by mid December, get back in the habit of drinking water, and getting 8 hours of sleep each night. Once I get back on track with those changes I will move on to new ones. Wish me luck!

My Goals:
My goals are to make eating healthy and exercising habits I will stick with

I am tracking how much water I drink (one of my big challenges!),eating healthier snacks in addition to an overall healthier diet, starting back (again) with exercising, especially strength training

Personal Information:
I live in the North Carolina mountains, close to the Smokies. I have been married for 38 years, have 3 grown children and have 7 grandchildren. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I love quilting, sewing and reading.

Sorry about your job loss. Saw that you said you haven't been tracking. I adopted the habit of eating only three one-plate meals a day with no snacks, seconds, or sweets on weekdays two years ago. It was the easiest way to keep track of what I ate! Over time, I have evolved guidelines for my meals, too, so I know most of them are in the 300-600 calorie range, though occasionally I will log the food just to be smug about how right I am. If you are intent on weighing pretty low in your BMI range, you might have to be very rigorous, but if you can cut down or reduce the random eating and be honest about how much you really need at a sitting to satisfy yourself until it's time to get hungry for the next meal, you may get down to your goal without much more attention to it. Even with your challenges. Good luck! emoticon
