My Goals:
Lose weight, increase strength & stamina, reduce stress


My Program:
3/22/15 - 5% challenge eating plan: Sparkpeople calorie range & using BistroMD high protein meals 5 days per week as an aid. No simple carbs.

5% challenge exercise plan: walking 30 minutes, 5 days per week, yoga 2 days per week. Increasing exercise as injuries heal.

Overall plan - healthy eating, exercise, journaling, meditation

Highest weight: most likely 300ish, but I stopped weighing when I hit 298 (spring '14). Restart on Sparkpeople: 288 1/1/15.

Personal Information:
I'm from Boston, a city I love despite the weather :). Currently, I work in the publishing industry and also as a counselor for youth & families. I have a passion for travel, writing reading and hiking.

Other Information:
Reasons I want to lose weight:

1. Healthier body (no more achy joints, muscle weakness)
2. Increased energy.
3. Longevity - eventually be a strong & healthy senior and avoid disease.
4. Enhance stamina/strength to be able to hike/bike/ski, etc.
5. To live more fully/stop holding myself back due to weight.
6. Increased confidence.
7. Be a better example for the children in my life.
8. Travel to exotic places & not be limited by my weight
9. Feel like I look great in clothes again & can wear whatever I want.
10. Being strong/confident in my own skin will help me be more assertive in goal-seeking.

Thanks for the comment on my blog post. I'm sure that we are all effected by the weather and the change of seasons, we just don't notice it as much as our ancestors did. Now we always think that we're "coming down with something" instead of just accepting that our physiology has developed over thousands of years; years spent dealing with seasons changing and weather changing. I bet that we make subtle shifts on the molecular level to deal with these changes.
