13.1 Raleigh Mid Town Race was so much fun. It was a smaller local race, no more than 600 people but I really enjoyed it. It started at North Hills Mall, down Laisiter Mill, to the Greenways. Up around Shelley Lake. It was great to run on familiar trails. They had people dressed in tutu's that were pace leaders. I wasn't sure what I would pace since I had a back injury and did not run two week prior to race. I decided to try for 10:15 and stay in front of the 10:30 pacers. Somehow the 10:30 pacers got in front of me at the top of the hill leading to the finish line. Well, it was their encouragement that gave me a push and pick it up and got in under 2:30. Chip time was 2:26:44.. I want to do more races, not sure what yet. Let me know if you are up for anything. I am enjoying staying away from Down Town events and like to stay closer to home.
I hope you are doing great! Are you still running?
Good morning! Just wanted to stop by and say Hi! Please come by the Raleigh Team Daily Chat. Raleigh has become Leaderless once again and I decided to start a daily chat to see if we could get some activity. Please stop by and say hi! I am trying to post between 6:30 - 7:30 am every morning. Just like getting together virtually for a cup of coffee.
I signed up for the Midtown Raleigh Half Marathon Sept 20th. They also have a 5K and 10K, Charity is Type II Diabetes.
