Starting Over

My name is Bill. I regained a lot of weight during the past six months taking care of my wife. Now that my beautiful wife has passed away after a 4-year battle with Amyloidosis, it is time to start taking care of myself. It may be difficult at first because of the grief, but I have to do it!

My Goals:
I want to get to 180 lbs by March 2105. While I can't run very much due to tendon damage after a broken leg, I want to get back in the habit of exercising daily.

My Program:
Eat healthy, watch the portion sizes, and exercise frequently. This formula always works, but it's easier said than done! I've got to find a way to make them habits instead of things that I HAVE to do.

Personal Information:
I live in San Antonio, Texas - an absolutely great place! (except perhaps in July and August...)

Other Information:
I grew up in Texas, but spent 26 years in the Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, I worked another 15 years at Brooks AFB, TX as a contractor. I love outdoor activities of all types. I'm currently finishing a vacation cabin at some acreage I have near Rocksprings, TX. This was our "get-away" spot where my wife and I could really enjoy nature.

That was a dangerous job you did, pruning that huge Oak Tree. I hope you recover from the strain soon. We had to have our 150 yr. old Maple Tree pruned for similar reasons, lucky for us it was on City Property, and they did the job at no cost to us... or strain. emoticon emoticon

Hey, Bill! Whatchadoin'? Thanks for your positive reinforcement of my fitness efforts. DH & I are headed to CA ...and it takes a few days on the road from CO. So I'm trying hard to hit the hotel exercise rooms.

Hope all is well at your place and you're squeezing some fun in amongst all your hard labor!

Have a great day

Yep. If you're ever bored (or have too much money), just buy yourself a 200 year old farmhouse. It's *never* all done.

Thanks for stopping by again about the birds. It has been several years since I put out an actual birdfeeder, usually just threw seed on the ground for them and they always cleaned it up. But this year they are not even coming and eating what I throw out. Getting tired of just wasting seed.

I'm always happy to see your name on my friend feed. I hope you're doing well. Funny thing about my "cycle" workout yesterday. I was only doing my cool down walk, but my shoe lace was loose to the point of being untied, so my SPAT that was attached to the lace recorded it as cycling - LOL. Nice technology but not perfect.
