I'm a runner (well jogger) trying to get ready for my first half marathon in December. I work full time and have four wonderful kids. Hoping to finally get my weight down to a healthy number...it's been a slow work in progress.

My Goals:
To run a half marathon.

To be able to wear a bathing suit in 2009 without shorts on top.

My Program:
I am currently training for my first half marathon on May 3rd. I run approximately 10 miles every other week and 6 miles ever other week as long runs. One Tempo run and one medium distance run a week. Two days of crossfit for strength training.



Personal Information:
I live in North Texas with my husband and four children.

11/27/08-Dallas Turkey Trot 8 miles - 1hour 36 min (12 min pace)

12/6/08-Rudolph Run 5K 35:10

12/14/08- White Rock Marathon (RELAY -- 6 miles) 69:20

3/14/09- Dash Down Greenville 5K (30:15)

5/3/09 -- Heels and Hills half marathon -- Cancelled due to flooding

7/18/09 - Too Hot to Handle 15K

9/27/09 - Heels, Hills and Him Half Marathon -

12/13/09 - White Rock Half

Thanks for that input! I have been beating myself up for daring to call it a half, but you are right - with or without a balloon at the end I did a half, and believe me I felt it the entire day and a little this morning too! emoticon

Hey! I don't think I'm going to run in the September H&H race unless I get a free flight from my airline miles. I live in DC and flew to Dallas to visit a friend & run the race with her. But who knows - maybe airfare will keep going down! I need a new goal anyway :)

Yeah, I prefer to run on my own anyway, but she insisted on running together for the cause and then acted stupid so I just told her to go ahead. I prefer to run without my iPod either. Not sure why, I just like being out there and just enjoying it.

Oh, and I can't WAIT to do another one. I think I might plan one for like next spring and really work on getting myself ready.

Wow. Are you serious? That's awful!
I got to run mine, but 1/2 way through the park yanked our license so I won't get an official time :(

But, I did it in approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, which is still really slow, but a) I finished and b) I did it faster than I did training :)

Are they going to reschedule yours?
