I'm in my late 50's. I never had weight issues until after I had my kids. I never learned about portion control or any of those things that are important in weight loss.

I've been on Weight Watchers and used their ActiveLink. I lost 10 pounds and have kept it off, but got bored with going to meetings (also meetings weren't always possible because I have MS fatigue).

My Goals:
Ideally, I want to lose 60 more pounds.

I want to be more healthy to minimize any weight-related effects to my MS.

Personal Information:
I've been married to my husband for 25 years. We have 3 grown children between us and have 8 grandkids.

I have 2 silly dogs. One is a female Black Lab who is afraid of thunder, fireworks, or any such noise. The other is a male Hound mix, I think he is a Plott Hound, but I'm not sure. He is a couch potato and lives for food!

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in Feb. 2003, but had my first major attack in around March 1988. I am ambulatory, use a cane part time due to fatigue and occasional balance issues.

Other Information:
I love to read cozy mysteries, fantasy, urban fantasy, Westerns, almost anything.

I also like to crochet and do counted cross-stitch.

I love to see Florida wildlife in my yard and when I'm out and about.

I joined the 100 day challenge team that uses Linda Spangles book and website and will continue using sparkpeople as well. You can join the team as well. Just go to the team from my sparkpage and they will send you a sparkmail with links to what you need to get started. You do not have to have the book to jump in and get started.
I am going into the 4th week of a Bible study I am leading through the First Place 4 Health team as well.

Of course the new neurologist wnts to have me get new mri's of brain & spine. I don't know if I can do through those again. I have developed panic attacks. Even though they gave me valium before the last one it didn't help. I got through the first part without the contrast but just couldn't go back in the machine after that. On top of that he said for complicated MS cases he sends his patients out to John Hopkins. The whole point of switching neurologists was to make my life easier not more complicated. So now I am not sure what I am going to do. How do you do with the mri's?
Have a blessed day emoticon

emoticon for checking on me. I am feeling better than I went to the hospital but still feel wiped out. I did get an appointment with a new neurologist much closer to my home since its been impossible for me to make the long trip to my neurologist who I have had since 2009. I hope I like the new one and that he is as good or better. My appointment is Monday so wish me luck!
How about your fatigue?

Hope your nap helps emoticon I am currently in the 3rd day of the pain around my upper body from what I can only assume is another MS Hug(boa constrictor hug :o) It is miserable and I hope it passes soon on it's own without the need for yet another round of steroids. If it don't get some relief soon I might just cave and go to the hospital.
When people who don't have MS hear you say your fatigued and need to rest they think its like a normal tired like you get from working to hard or not getting a goodnights sleep BUT IT IS NOT! I understand, oh how I understand!
Take care,
