In January 2012, I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. The procrastinating is over; this time I am committed to getting my BMI to 25.0 by losing a total of 67 lbs, wearing a size 12 and wowing 'em at my high school class reunion in 2013.

My Goals:
1) Read something daily to stay motivated and keep a positive attitude; 2) Call a friend or do routine housework when I'm stressed; 3) Stay focused on eating right and getting the proper exercise; 4) Get 8-9 hours of sleep.
My Program:
Cardio 4-5x a week for 30-45 minutes: High intensity interval training on the elliptical and treadmill or indoor track, walking and hiking. Strength train 4x a week with varied upper body and lower body exercises. Follow general principles of South Beach Diet. Eat a plant-based diet. Reduce intake of white bread, white rice, potatoes, refined white flour and sugar. Consume lean meats.
Other Information:
The only time you mustn't fail is the last time you try.
