I'm looking to lose 20 to 30 pounds that is in all in the wrong places - LOL!!
I am a Chocoholic and a junk food junkie. I am just trying to babystep my way to a more healthy lifestyle. I am a very old soul who loves to read, listen to music, take pictures and have fun.
Life is a funny thing. It's an ever-going marathon, yet no one knows where his or her finish line is. We just keep running and running, hoping we still have a long way to go. We do whatever we can to prolong the run, but sometimes despite our best efforts, the marathon is cut short. So many of us are only concerned about the distance we are traveling, we lose focus of what's going on during the run. And this is the important part, so take advantage. Stretch some personal boundaries, work outside of your comfort zone, try something new. There will be bumps along the road, shortcuts, and paths that lead into dead ends. These are all parts of the journey; how you deal with them will determine where you go in life. Remember, we don't always determine the distance, but we can determine the path.
Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her 'beauty tips.' It was read at her funeral years later.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

I want to lose these love handles and tone up. I need to become a healthier person. When you are a teenager you never think you will live to be 40+. Now that I am here, I am gaining weight in all the wrong places!!! - LOL
I have been talked into trying advocare - we'll see how it goes - 5 lbs down so far. I am not organized enough for this - lol
I am tracking my foods and exercise to see exactly what I am doing and where I can improve.

I receive much wise counsel through the Holy Bible. Scripture is full of wisdom for all, whether they are a believer or not. Here is the wisdom I receive today as I prepare for April's focus on developing a willingness that makes me able to succeed:
Isaiah advises us, "For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, 'In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.' But you were not willing" ~ Isaiah 30:15.
We miss out on good things in life when we are unwilling to cooperate in doing what is needful for achieving the good we desire. God through Isaiah tells us that our consenting to cooperate with laws, rules, guidelines, etc., leads to our eating "the best of the land" (Isaiah 1:18-20). Willingness to do what we must for what we want is a necessary mindset for overcoming temptation and the failure to achieve. Develop a willingness to do what it takes within the boundaries of what is good, right, and true, and you will go far in life.
"If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself" ~ John 7:17.
