Well, I am 47 today. I have made really great progress since I first joined Sparkpeople. I had lost weight before, but that was by dieting, this time I really feel like I have made a lifestyle change. I can feel the difference in my energy level, I can see the difference in my skin tone. I enjoy exercising and miss it when I can't do it.

I enjoy exercising and miss it when I can't do it.
It is definitely harder to lose weight as you get older, and I worry about what effect menopause will have on that. But I also feel empowered, I can set goals and work toward them. And I don't think I'd be able to say all this without SP, the support I have found here is unbelievable. So, here's to another successful year!

Feb 2008.
I've been using SparkPeople since last fall, but only now that the glow of losing those first few pounds has worn off, am I realizing I am in this for the long haul, and hoping to have some understanding friends to discuss things with. I've enjoyed reading posts from so many members, and now I feel ready to join the conversation.
I'm a working mom with 3 fun and active kids, so like so many of us, I usually put my own needs last. My husband is a great friend and very suppportive, but naturally he is busy with his own responsibilities and doesn't think about health and weight loss so much of the time, like I seem to be doing. Anyway.... here I am, and I'm doing well on my weight loss plan, but I still have a long way to go!

My Goals:
My primary goal is to get down to at least 150 lbs. I am also trying to reduce my cholesterol level. And now our family's latest motivation, my nephew is getting married next summer and of course we all want to look our best! Told my sister and nieces about SP... I hope it helps them as it has helped me.

My Program:
I find that using the nutrition tracker is helping me a lot. I know that no one is watching it other than me, but when I am truly being honest with myself about what I eat, I find it so much easier to stay on course.

Thank you so much for your encouraging message!! I bought my Jump Snap back in December, and it's the best thing that I have ever purchased. I started out small, and even doing 5 minutes, you burn a lot of calories.

Thanks for your message. I love hearing that part-time working moms are out there and have similar weight issues. Wow, you have lost alot. I am so impressed. I too use all the kid activities and running around to keep me from exercise. I need to be a morning exerciser. What is your routine? Congrats on what you have achieved so far. I am hoping it rubs off on me.
