!!!UPDATE!!! 06/13/2012: I started a challenge on 06/01/2012 of 12 weeks of leaner and cleaner eating, daily exercising, mental reassessment, setting some goals for the future and doing my very best to achieve them. I've lost 9 pounds since then and am feeling pretty good about what I have accomplished and look forward to achieving my goals as they are set. Stay tuned, more to come!!

UPDATE: (11/07/2011) After gaining back everything I had lost and now only 0.01 from my highest weight ever, and having problems walking, breathing, sleeping, doing most anything, it's time again to take care of myself the best way I know how, and that's by coming back to Spark People. It was here that I learned the right way to lose the weight and had a bunch of fun doing it! Over the next year, I hope to get a handle on the emotional eating and lack of motivation that has led me once again to be almost 340 pounds. It's time to toss that "I don't give a sh*t about myself" attitude out and start loving me again. I'm sorry, self, can we be friends again?

UPDATE: (05/29/2011) I guess I really wasn't ready to start over back in January of 2010. After spending the past year dealing with uncontrolled eating and general nutritional mayhem, I feel that now is a good time to give this another go. A few things have changed and I will blog about them when I have a couple minutes. Welcome back to me!!!

Hi there and Welcome To WytchHazyl's! My name is Janet and I live with my husband, Michael, in Nenana, Alaska, a tiny village in the Interior about 60 miles South of Fairbanks along the Nenana and Tanana Rivers. I have a daughter who is 25, and was/is my Gift, Light of my life, my Comfort, my Clown. I have two Rugs That Eat (otherwise known as cats) Fairbanks & Chena that live with me and two Granddawgs, T-Bone & Mater, that live with my daughter.

I work from home as a medical transcriptionist (I listen to doctors talk over headphones and type what they mumble). I've been doing transcription for over 23 years now and still love my job, especially since I don't have to go outside when it's 40 and 50 degrees below zero!

I started SparkPeople on December 12, 2008, because of a comment Michael made on the way to town that day (read my first blog entry). It was time to get serious about being healthier and happier. I want to be, and am going to try my best to be 200 or under by my birthday.. my 50th birthday... on August 4th.

UPDATE: (08/04/2009) I didn't make it to under 200 for my 50th birthday, but I am way less than I was last year at this time. I haven't given up and am still working on becoming Fitter At Fifty!!

UPDATE: (01/07/2010) I am starting over with the new year. I crashed and burned with stress over the holidays and having a major injury that is keeping me off work (no work equals no money). I am bipolar and taking one thing (work) out of my *normal* routine has really messed things up. I am aware of the problem now and will use the tools I have learned to get back on track.

Personal Information:
I live with my husband in a little village called Nenana, Alaska. We are about 60 miles south of Fairbanks, and about 60 miles north of Denali Park where my husband works in the summer months. We moved here in 2008, and are almost finished with the process of turning a garage into a living space. We've named it the GarageWannaBeHouse!!

*UPDATE* House is done and is the cutest house you'd ever see!! Now we are working on the outside... never done!
