Hi! I just saw your comment about the article on negative names, and I wanted to say that you can change your name. You go to the start page then, account/email preferences under your name. It allows you to change it there. Wishing you the best!

Hi Karen -
Thank you for your reply to my sparkpage, as reaching out in pain is so important. I understand about turning inward but after dealing with pain and the depression that follows, I have learned the best remedy for me is to talk with a caring friend. Although my husband is wonderful, he counts on me for strength and joy in his life and after 30 years, I've learned he doesn't want to hear about my pain. I'm honest with him - telling him I have to rest or pace myself, but I need my girlfriends to share my feelings and frustrations.

So please reach out to all of us and create blog entries. It can put very special people in your life to help bring you the joy you need.

All the best,
Anna

Good morning,
In an attempt to be a bit more encouraging I will call you YOUGO ,(instead of yoyo).

I too have lots of anniversaries. Many of which are not pleasant to remember, but then I have some that are wonderful. Have you ever worked with others in your situation? My husband lost his daddy to (murder) when he was only 7 he was the only boy and at the time had 3 sisters. His daddy was killed on his way to work, he was riding on his motorcycle and was hit also by a drunk driver. Yes I call that murder. Odd that I just found your page when just last night I told my wonderful husband of 32 years how I miss not ever meeting his dad! See this affects those we never thought of.

My heart hurts for your pain as I often feel yucky! I just try my best to picture Christ & His suffering for me and my pain is bareable. Truely this has helped in so many situations.

Perhaps there is a place you can work/volunteer to help others in your situation. Giving mercy to others in pain is lacking in todays electronic society. Perhaps this would help you!

God bless you always from the breathtakingly beautiful state of Alaska! We honeymooned in your country at the Banff Spring Hotel in 1977. That is where I fell in love with mountains.
Take care,
Alaskasunshine

Hi -
I just visited your page and it sounds like you need a bit of encouragement. I know anniversary dates are key points in recovery. It's been 32 years since I was hit by a drunk driver. I was so young (23 yrs old) that I really don't remember what it's like to not live in pain.

I've taken pain management classes where I learned modalities, like breathing, pacing, and stretches that I practice everyday. It certainly doesn't ease the pain, but it helps my mind and heart. My pain level stays around 7-8 out of 10. I know I need to reach out to my friends when I let the pain get me down. It's hard to reach out, but I know the effects only too well when I don't.

So keep in touch, and know that there are other people who deal with pain too, but together we can enjoy simple things. Take care!

All my best, Anna
