Positive thoughts produce positive results.

My phrase for 2016 is "less talk and more action"

It's so easy to talk about doing things to help me get healthier, but when it comes right down to doing those things sometimes I have a problem putting them into action. So reading a team mates blog and recalling an Elvis song came up with my phrase and it seems to be working for me. It's surprising where we sometimes find inspiration, there's plenty on Spark to be found, we just have to find what speaks to us.

My Goals:
Physically to become healthier by eating right, exercising and learning how to keep the weight off.

Mentally to have the right frame of mind that this is not a diet, but a lifestyle change, something I can do for the rest of my life.

Spiritually to grow into the person that Christ would have me become and to reach out and support and encourage other sparkpeople who are also making this journey to a healthier lifestyle

My Program:
To continue improving my choices of healthier food, and incorporating the right kinds of exercise to help me become a more fit person.

Personal Information:
I am from Michigan, am happily married. I have four children, one boy and 3 girls and 9 grand children and 4 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. Have 7 grand doggies.

Other Information:
Like reading, listening to light jazz, and watching movies with my husband. I also enjoy rubber stamping, crocheting and cross stitching.

    Good morning, friend. So nice of you to hop on my spark page.... I'm a bit off course, too, after my trip to FL. Eating too many carbs, not walking enough. On March 26, I will start the Spring Challenge 5% weight loss. Do you ever do those? Starts March 26; I could send you the link if you are interested. The circle of support is phenomenal; its fun and motivating, too.

    You are trying to get your steps in daily, and that is a good step in the right direction. I need to get back to some more intense stepping and my client work will lighten up after next week to give me more time to focus on that.

    Let's keep on stepping! Still love my Fitbit! emoticon

    Hello Shirl, thanks for the update on your husband's eyes. Depending on the exact cause of his condition he may indeed be getting to where he will not need the shots any longer. My husband started on his in June of 2014. In late 2015 his doctor put him at 11-12 weeks apart for a couple times. The last time he put him at 4 months, used a smaller dose, and said my husband would go "on maintenance." So in his case, at least, there may never be a "need no more" but even at every few months, it is better than going blind. Best wishes and congratulations on the great news. Carol

    Hi Shirl, thanks for straightening me out about A.J. I've been getting to know you for awhile now but obviously missed that detail. It still sounds like a fun time with a grandson. Movies are a good excuse to sit and rest, and they can be thought provoking as well. My husband won't sit still for them and we have no one else in town to watch them with either. A.J. sounds special. Have a great time.

    Thanks for stopping by my blog. I think I might have to falter and replace the microwave. It was a harsh day without it, lol. Never really thought about it, but it does come in handy. :)
