I am hoping this is the best year yet for me in everything, Life, Love and weight loss.

But I know it is up to me to make this happen. So my goal is to get back in the gym, watch my nightly eating and reduce my stress.

If I can lose 1/2 a pound to a pound a week I will be back to my goal weight by the end of the year.

My Goals:
2013- This year I need to work on losing the 40 pounds I have gained since last fall. I am trying new things to learn what will work the second time around.

2012- This year I am going to continue to challenge myself (more intense workouts) and work on getting leaner. 25-20% Body fat is the goal!

2011-I turned 40 this year (Jan 24th) and in Jan finally reached my goal of getting down to a size 12/10 (it is an amazing feeling to finally be at my goal!)

2010- This year's goal is to finish what I started back in 08'. (50 pounds and 180 lbs.)

2009- My goal this year is to be fit and toned. To lose inches all around and so I can fit better in my clothes.

Yr. 2008
I would like to lose all my weight I gained due to depression. I lost 45 pounds and gained it all back over the past two and a half years.
* update 12/30- I lost 40 lbs. for 2008

Yr. 2005-2007
Exercise and diet were such a struggle during my depression.

My Program:
1. Reduce Calorie intake especially for dinner and nightly snacking.

2. Try to make most of my meals. 2nd half of 2013- doing a gluten free Paleo food diet.

3. Change my routine to keep my body guessing and start losing weight again.

4. Be both mindful and kind to my body. Stressing out over things I can not change will not help me.

5. Have fun and stay busy on the weekends.

Personal Information:
My real name is Majella but some of my friends call me MJ or MB-

I love art and music.

I enjoy creating playlists and CD of Chill out/ Lounge Music for my friends and myself. (I am completely obsessed when it comes to making the perfect CD.)

I also write poetry and have been published on Poetry.com.

I would like to master the Haiku and spoken word. But generally write in free verse.

Other Information:
I love Kickboxing with a heavy bag and boxing with mitt work training. Currently I am taking a few exercise classes at Stanford to try to continue my fitness lifestyle. I generally work out anywhere from 3-6 times a week.

Hi there my friend! How was your time in HI? Can't wait to hear about it. Made the decision to sign up for WW online this week. I can't even write here how much I weigh but it's the most I've weighed in 6 years. So far I've signed up but I have yet to actually "follow" the plan. It's only day 2 and I haven't had time to log in and set things up. I've ate well, trying to eat more fruits/veggies and not eating many simple carbs at all, but I need to get my tracker set up and actually use it. It is a bit time consuming at first. Tonight I made a turkey bean soup and cauliflower "fried rice", which has no rice in it at all. Both healthy recipes but I have to get all the stats loaded in and compute how many points it is. It will be easier after I have a week in, also I don't work this weekend so I will have time to play with it and figure out what other recipes I want to make. One of my friends is doing their Simply Filling version where you don't have to calculate any points, just eat from the food list until you're just satisfied. I was planning to do that but again, need to have some recipes because any convenience food has too many points to do that method. So I'm not sure which version I'll do, but at least I signed up for a 3 month commitment. Probably didn't tell you but roommate and I are signed up for an Alaskan cruise next June. With just about 370 days we agreed that we needed to get the lead out and get in shape. Right now my knees wouldn't let me do ANY quantity of hiking, especially on an uneven terrain so I've literally given myself no choice but to get started. And I'm ready. I've not looked this bad in years and it's really bothering me. So wish me luck because here I go again.

Hi MJ,

I hope you had a great time in Hawaii, I can't wait to hear all about it. Are you going to post a blog? Get any good photos?

Things have not been good for me--my mom recently passed away, so I've really been struggling mentally. I am trying to get back on track with my health though, she is my motivation and inspiration.

School is out for the summer and I did well, 2 As and 1 AB (3.8 GPA, so not bad, although I would have liked a 4.0). I start my summer job next week.

Hey MJ! Thanks for stopping by (and I'm sorry I didn't respond to your last comment)!

School is going well since I dropped my organic chemistry class. This is my last full week of classes and then next week is finals week. Although I don't really have any finals this semester. I have 2 quizzes, a non-cumulative exam in group dynamics, and a paper due this week still, and then next Monday I have a paper due, and next Tuesday I have a non-cumulative exam in botany, then I am done!

I decided against summer classes this year for a few reasons--one of which being that I could just use a break. :) Also, my mom is still really sick and I have felt like I've not been able to see and help her as much as I'd like to, so I am going to spend a lot of time with her this summer. I will still be on campus a bunch though, as I got a student job working in the Herbarium for 20-30 hours a week. If I decide to do a minor in Archaeology, I will need to take part in a summer field school next summer though, and that sounds like tons of fun.

I bet that summers in Utah are fun and beautiful! I know I love summers here in Wisconsin, although I'm not a fan of the winters, lol!

How have you been doing? When do you go to Hawaii? I'm so jealous...I've never been and I really want to go some day. I collect tiki stuff and love sun, sand, and tropical drinks! I know you are going to have a marvelous time and I can't wait to hear all about it!

I gotta say--I think you are such a beautiful and incredible person too and I'm so thankful to have you as a friend!

So happy to see you on my page my friend! I've been busy on my Fast Metabolism Diet and all in all am happy with the results. It is a LOT of work with all the cooking though...only down side. But I'm NEVER hungry that's a big PLUS!

Keep on keepin' on MJ...we will succeed in this weight loss goal...you betcha cha...and YOU are a beautiful and inspirational friend to me also...enjoy your day today! emoticon
