Glad to see you. Yuki is " the bird " my name is Mary.

I am a Senior, just turned 65. Like most of you I struggled with my weight problem for years. Being a single Mother I put myself on the bottom of the list.
When I first started Sparkpeople a few years ago I couldn't overcome my all or nothing attitude. I became overwhelmed gave up and dropped out.

When I first started Sparkpeople a few years ago I couldn't overcome my all or nothing attitude. I became overwhelmed gave up and dropped out.
Although I dropped out I never gave up my new exercise program of using my treadmill daily. Oh my was I out of shape, I could only walk 10 minutes at a time. very slowly. Days I wanted to give up but I didn't and then it got to be a habit... Thank you Sparkpeople .
Last year, I decided I needed to work on the eating part of my journey...guess where I came? yup! back to Sparkpeople.
Even though I was doing the treadmill at 3.5 mph for 60 minutes 2 x's a day 50 % of the time I wasn't loosing any weight. I was a junk food junkie...binge eating most nights.
I started slowly I started by not eating junk food one day a week, the next week no junk for 2 days that week. You get the picture.
My next step, was to cut out processed foods. Add more real foods, cook at home.
The last step I took was to plan, plan, and more planning. I now make out a weekly menu, if I know I'm going to have a busy week, I will cook a few meals on Saturday... so I only have to heat them up in the microwave for my crazy days.
I started going the the YMCA this summer, not only to do weights but for socializing.

I haven't felt this healthy and fit in years!
